We stayed in Tengboche during our EBC trek, it was a nice place to look around after a days trekking. There are monks there who will also chat to you about the monestry.

This Monastery is a must visit on your EBC trek. Situated at the top of a challenging climb, with views to Everest, this place has a wonderful location. Inside, the place is calm & spiritual as you would expect.

It's beautifully decorated both inside and out, however you can't take photographs inside and must remove your shoes. We were in and out in about 10 minutes, but still worth popping over to look at.

Passed through Tengboche, on way back from EBC. The Gompa (Buddist Monastery) is the most famous and the largest in the region. A beautiful structure. From here, we can get a 360 degrees view of all mountains, including the mount Everest.
