Nothing much here

The fort is pretty empty. Post monsoon might look greener. Otherwise dried out grasslands. Only a drone shot can show the star shape which we anyway cannot fly and see. No audio guide or guide or boards to describe the place. View from the fort is lovely. That's the only reason to climb the steps. People climb the fort wall for instagram pics which seemed dangerous. That's about it.

Badly maintained
Dec 2020
The entrance steps and the fort area is completely littered with waste. The fort walls are vandalized by marking names, symbols etc. Sad to see people having no respect for historical monuments. There are no boards inside to explain the significance or history of the place.

Some people were walking on the walls and even climbing to the steep edges. Better to skip this place.

Easy walk and do not expect much

The fort is located on the highway, however no board exists hence you may miss the spot. There are no explanation boards inside the fort either which talk about the history. I had read about it on Wikipedia. Please carry water with you, there is no water available either. The fort is almost in ruins and is not worth if you are just taking a day break. It is completely littered and not much has been done to take care of the fort apart from the fact that street vendors guard the entrance. The walk to the fort top includes a walk of 5-10 mins on cement track followed by 10 min walk on steps. No facilities of any sort exist inside the fort.

The best view comes after the hardest climb!!

Manjarabad Fort stands at an elevation of 3,240 ft on the outskirts of Sakleshpur. The star-shaped fort was built by Tipu Sultan as a protection from the enemies. The fort is a must visit to witness the grandeur of Islamic-style architecture. The trek up to the fort is a little bit difficult but the view of the Western Ghats from the top is spell-bounding.
.
The octagonal star-shaped fort is situated at 6 km from the town’s bus stand. Maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India, the fort boasts of the sprawling hillscape & green valleys around.

Good vantage point to visit
Nov 2020
Not much of the fort remains, but the star shaped border. Can't use a drone to take that photo. You can go up and see the view from the fort walls. Nice view. Not much else to look at.

Star shaped fort
Nov 2020 • Friends
Star shaped fort, you can get best view in Drone. Not sure if they still allow drones. Every corner of the fort has beautiful view of nature. You get great photos, I would suggest to go when it's not too crowded as you will get to experience better. It looks best wen it's green, end of rainy season or winter season would be best time to visit.

The Star Fort
Aug 2019 • Family
This old star shaped fort build by Tippu Sultan is mesmerizing, cool and surrounded by greenery. It is easy to locate, the road is narrow but, the traffic is well managed by traffic police. Parking is available. There is no entry fee. The path ahead is quite long and wheelchair service is NOT available. It a good place for pictures, a picnic with family or friends and also for bike rides. The view is beautiful in all directions and one can enjoy the cool breeze, better wear warm clothes to this place.

Good fun provided you are fit enought to climb 250 steps... Read the history before going there - then it would be able relate to everything...

The "Star" fort
Feb 2020
This remarkable fort is layed out as a symmetrical 16-pointed star. It's on top of a hill and you get to see pretty good vistas from the ramparts of the fort. Most of the surface of the fort is filled with grass and moss. A 10 minute walk from the road takes you to the entrance.
