The climb is hard and is not for everyone. Parking is a nightmare. Be very early if you want to find a parking place. Don't park on the main road. There is a small road along the hill side. Use this for parking your car....More

winter is the best time to visit that too early morning ...near by places are around 30 kms you can visit malahalli falls, bisle ghat view point...

Only with a drone camera I guess (which I believe is not allowed as per law) . There is no vantage point high enough in the vicinity to take in the star shape. You can see the view in Google Earth.
