Not a bad little museum. There are some very interesting things to see and anyone with any interest in Don Cossacks and their heritage should take a trip to Novocherkassk and visit this museum. Please be aware though that all the signage is in Russian....More

Exhibits and everywhing well put together. I was pleasantly surprised by this museum that gives insight into the life of Cossacks and the region itself. There are some beautiful paintings on the top floor.

Maybe I was tired, but I wanted to sit down a lot and there weren't many places to sit. I went with two small groups. One Americans, one Russians. We were both tired from our activities the day before. Interesting museum.

Just expect the guide to actually guide you (i.e. boss you around), rather than entertain or answer your questions - no time for that. They have a program which they want to shoot at you at a speed of automatic rifle, and then be done...More
