This is a lovely place to visit and could well have spent more time here than we did. The guided tour of the chocolate and cocoa drying area was very interesting

Traditional chocolate making!

You don't want to miss Belmont Estate. It was so cool to see how chocolate is made - the traditional Grenada way! And the lunch was delicious. Thank you!

Gorgeous lunch and really interesting tour of chocolate production
Mar 2020 • Couples
We arrived late morning and there was no one available for the tour at that time so went and had lunch first.
The restaurant was lovely. Food was superb and the the service excellent.
Took a while to sort our change but, other than that, all was good.
Went on tour of chocolate production which was really interesting - chocolate “tea” was sublime.
Definitely worth a visit.

Great Experience Made Better with Kelly as our Guide
Nov 2019
A bit of a trek from Grand Anse Beach but well worth the ride. We had our own car so getting out there was a little bit of an adventure of it’s own through the rain forest. A great way to see other parts of the island.
Belmont Estate is the real deal - working cocoa bean / chocolate factory. Our three children had an amazing experience. I submitted a review on the site right after our trip with very high compliments for Kelly our guide - he was born for this!
From learning about cocoa processing, talking parrot, playing with turtles and feeding the Mona monkeys, we had a wonderful time. Can’t say enough.

A Must See in Grenada
Feb 2020 • Friends
Beautifully landscaped property with a fabulous restaurant, a chocolate factory with lots of wonderful samples, beautifully packaged spice collections, chocolate bars and other goods to bring home for your enjoyment or gifts for others. See the cocoa beans drying in the sun,the bougainvillea growing around ruins of former outbuildings, the vast selection of vegetation grown locally and the beautiful plants and flowers on the estate - make sure you lunch and you find the cactus garden. It’s all good at Belmont Estate.

Working Estate
Feb 2020
This is a working estate with talks on how chocolate beans are grown, harvested, processed, sorted and shipped. It's a lot of work! There is a small shop with limited choice of bars produced on the estate, which are quite pricey. The talks are in the barn and just outside.

Rude and disappointed
Jan 2020
This review is solely for my experience at the restaurant. We drove to the Belmont Estate to have lunch and a tour on January 29, 2020. We arrived shortly after noon. We walked in and there was a very nice young lady at the reception desk. We asked if we could have a look at the menu. She explained to us how the set menu works, with a served appetizer and a main course buffet with choice of greens, then a served dessert. We checked the food at the buffet table, and we proceed to sit down at a table. Right after I set down and put my bag down, I was hungry and wanted to go to the buffet table. Another waitress in green who wear glasses come over, she was extremely patronizing, she said to me: ‘You need to go back to your table, you need to go and sit down, I need to explain to you how it works and take your order!’ I said to myself : WTF? I have travelled in every continent of the world, I know how to order and eat, if I want to have my main course first and not wait for an appetizer, it is my prerogative. I am paying, right? I told her, I am no spending my money on this place and let. To give the first waitress credit and the manger credit. The waitress ask us if we need an umbrella to get back to the car because it was raining, I said No, the car is not parked far away, the manager come to ask me if I want to get back to my table??? I said no and she offered some food for me to go. I said no thank you, I am not here for freebie, I can pay if the food and service is good. As far as I am concern, the rude waitress is either she does not know how to speak properly, or she looks at me, an tiny Asian and judge me and presume I do not know how to order or eat in this place. Either way, she should be fired. I will not give any good review as I told the manager.

Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for your review. We regret that we did not meet your expectations. We are constantly seeking to ensure that we offer our guests a wow experience and reviews help us to see where we need to improve. Kindly note that the matter was brought to our attention the very same day by the restaurant manager. In addition to speaking with you and the waitress she also spoke with guests who were present at the time to get a full understanding of the situation. We recognise that you were offended by her approach and as such we sincerely apologise for same. We also regret that we had not provided you with the experience we seek to offer all our guests. We wish to equivocally state that it was not the waitress’ intention to appear rude or condescending. She was, in fact, taken aback that this was how her attempt to explain the service was received, we also wish to assure you that your ethnicity had no bearing on matter. We thank you for your comments about our manager and hostess and they have been advised of same. We are due to have one of our regular training sessions for our front office staff and we would be using this situation to underscore how certain approaches, words and cues can help us improve the customer service experience. We trust that your visit to Grenada was enjoyable. Kind regards, Jadey Bissessar Marketing Associate.

A worthwhile visit
Dec 2019
We hired a car and dropped in for a visit whilst touring the island. It was well worth the stop. We had a guide from the Belmont estate called Daryl who was a really cool guy. He had bags of enthusiasm and a great knowledge which he delivered really well. Started off with the “spice table” identifying different subject matter which got us all involved in an attempt by us to name the exhibits. Then we were shown the process of production of the the cocoa bean all the way through to making chocolate. My wife even had a go of turning the beans in the drying trays with her feet as they did all those years ago. Even sampled cocoa tea which is a by product of the small beans that don’t make the grade for chocolate. Finished off in the chocolate factory where we were shown the process of how long it takes to make the delightful chocolate. The estate is organic. I thought it was great and the different chocolates sampled fantastic. Well worth the visit a good experience which was due to Daryl who I thought was a good ambassador and credit to the company.
