We were there in December and they had Troika rides through the gardens that we took around the palace. It was very charming and relaxing even in winter. The palace was much smaller than some of the other great palaces but still large enough and quite quaint. If one is already out to see the Pushkin town and the summer... More

A bit of the beaten track but well possible to visit in connection with Catherine's Palace. A beautiful palace with lovely garden. Winter landscape added to the experience. Be prepared for the crowds

We visited the place at the end of summer. The palace was ok, not that amazing in comparison to other palace or museums like Hermitage. But the garden was truly beautiful, calm and no sign of city rush with some magical silence. The park is also suggested to people who need calmness and suffer from neurological diseases. One of the... More

This site is rather adjacent to the Pushkin Town in Pushkin District. And very near to the Pavlovsk Town center is situated this beautiful palace and park. That is a big estate and in the same time the youngest one of the grand Imperial properties around St.Petersburg. It is named in the honour of Tsar Pavel, the son of the... More

It also takes about an hour to get to Pavlovsk by car, but it is worth the visit, although not as big as the other palaces, it is one of the Palaces that one must go see. Again this is a nice visit on a sunny day so one can enjoy the gardens, the inside is not as luxurious as... More

I especially recommend to visit the park in autumn. The golden leaves just make the whole place look like in a story book! The palace is small but beautiful, and you can get lost in your thoughts in its poetic English-styled park. If you walk enough, you might as well find a little amphitheater in the woods by the river... More

Pavlovsk is a beautiful palace that warrants a visit. It is unique among the major Imperial palaces in that it never underwent any major renovations and expansions (other than post WWII restoration). Also unlike the other major palaces, it is not in the Baroque style. Perhaps owing to the role of Scottish born Russian court architect Charles Cameron, the palace... More

Our friends had been in St Petersburg one time and never went to Pavlovsk, so we couldn't skip it as we wanted to have unique experience. I think it is an excellent way to explore the Russian countryside and get out of the city. There are lots of different areas in Pavlovsk Park which you can explore. We used the... More

I went to this palace with a good tour guide to explain the history of each furniture and enjoy the garden. When you visit the Catherine summer palace, try to take some time to visit this palace.

Lost in the woods, not so far from Tsarskoe Tselo, you will find the beautiful castle. The english level there is extremely poor, you need to speak a bit Russian. They also have guides speaking english who can give you a visit.
