No one should miss going to Puerto Morelos and when you go don't miss the flea market there. It is a colorful and fun place to purchase gifts for yourself and special friends back home. I do bargain a little but not so much as...More
bike tour took us here. lots of souvenirs items and people are very friendly and not pushy. I prefer the smaller market as in cheaper than here but this place has more variety. Would recommendfor visit.
We stayed at a resort and took a bike tour into town, staying for a bit to shop around. The authentic goods were very unique and different than most anything you can find in the states. We bought a couple things and felt like we...More
We went to the Flea Market on our first full day in Puerto Morelos. There are no real signs to the building but it is fairly easy to find since the town is only three blocks deep and a couple blocks long (on the south...More
Not sure if we went to the flea market or artisans market. It is south of the old XOXO. There are many little shops and some good bargains if you look. Bought a coconut carved into a humming bird. Asked the shopkeeper if he made...More
We stopped here on a Saturday morning bike tour. You wouldn't know that the place existed if our tour leader didn't make a stop here. About half the spaces were occupied and most stuff had tons of dust on it making it seems as if...More

There is a lot of shopping in Puerto Morelos. There are vendors all over town, on the beach at certain times and what we found most fun were the vendors that setup in the town square on Friday and Sunday nights. This is where we...More
We decided to visit Puerto Morelos after having little luck finding reasonably priced souvenirs in Playa del Carmen and not being able to find a parking spot in Cancun. I wish we would have found Puerto Morelos sooner. It’s a sleepy little fishing village with...More
We stayed five nights in a local hotel and enjoyed browsing through the flea market which was just the right size. The shop keepers were friendly and helpful. I was looking for a specific size and type of glasses that were popular 3-4 years ago....More

I agree with Linda, the language barrier will not be an issue. And even if you like the vendor, barter They have priced items expecting it and they are fine with it. My best advice is decide what it is worth to you and if you can get it for that price regardless of what they are asking, then you both win. Your happy with the price you paid and they obviously are not in the business to lose money and make bad deals.
