This is right off the Pacific Coast Highway, an easy stop if you are driving through and well worth the stop. An easy hike as well, well paved and not steep.

The hike to the falls was easy and pleasant. you will feel like stopping several times to take a picture, but keep walking because the view gets better! The historical signs are thought-provoking - I couldn't imagine what it took to build s house here in late 1800s! It's a short stop though - the other hiking trail could take... More

The waterfall is so simple but truly the most beautiful I've ever seen. The pathway cowards the viewpoint is great with nature and flowers. Kinda romantic.

When my wife and I went to McWay Falls during our west coast road trip, McWay Falls was a definite go to spot. After seeing it, I told my wife how it looks like paradise. The waterfall, the beach, the waves, just how everything looked. In a way, it is a good thing people aren't allowed on the beach to... More

Definitely worth stopping here to enjoy the breathtaking views of Mc Way Falls. This was one of our Highway 1 highlights (alongside Point Lobos State Park). If you don't want to pay the 10$ to park your car, don't enter the park and just put your car next to the street. Or, if you have already visited another state park... More

This was a great place to stop and stretch your legs. We went in November and it wasn't overly crowded, but the parking lot was over 1/2 full (not a big lot). I have no idea what they do in the summer, when I would imagine there are more people. There are no signs saying that this stop is coming... More

I loved exploring McWay Falls. My family always makes a trip here to see the tunnel you have to enter to get to the falls and to see all the beauty it offers. The Waterfall house is so amazing to see and my kids loved learning how nature can take control of it's surroundings.

We went in the morning, it was beautiful and less crowded but if you are a photographer or an instagram person go in the afternoon when sun is on the falls. It is shaded out all morning. The tradeoff is the crowds. The closer to sunset the more people. Worth seeing either way. If you park on the street make sure... More

We hit McWay Falls just before sunset on our drive north to Monterey in early October. It really is worth the short walk down to the lookout point. We hung around for about 45 min, watching the changing light. Make sure to have a camera!

Ez to pay $10 and park or almost just as easy to park on the road and save the $. Simple walk, couple hundred yards, to a beautiful cove with pretty waterfall landing on the beach. Definitely worth the 30-60 minute stop. Bring lunch and enjoy.
