Daughters birthday lunch

Wanted to check this out for sometime, of course it was the end of the season, so not many people or choices for lunch, but would go back again in the spring

We visited at the end of the school summer break, so the 'living history' people were gone. We did, however, have a great guided tour of the church with one of the site staff. We even were able to ring the bell in the church! The tents were set up as various business or living quarters from the gold rush... More

Detailed written and pictured history of the town's creation, from the settlement of the area by the aboriginal people, through the gold rush of the 1850's and the building of the railroad with the chinese work groups. Rich and well presented by the guides.

Very well done replica of life during the gold rush & a Hudson Bay post. Very clean & organized museum. A replica tent city, seemed very accurate. Nice video presentation, small gift shop. Original Anglican Church. Helpful staff that are friendly & knowledgable. You need to look for it as you go to Yale, so u don't miss the street... More

A lovely Historic Site to visit. There is lots to see and great for the whole family. We were a little disappointed that the Creighton House was not set up as a historic house, but as a place to see bits-and-pieces of artifacts. And, we were also disappointed to learn that the Site does not have all the people that... More

Hi Roberts Family. Thank you for you comments. Sorry to hear of your disappointments while visiting our site. We take all visitor feedback seriously and use it to enhance our visitor's experiences in the future. Unfortunately our resources are not enough to have historical reenactors on the site full time. We do host several events throughout the season that are... More

What a great set up and the hands on experience. My girls got to try gold panning, played a card games and even checkers. Our favorite part was trying on different outfits of the times. You have to go, spend the time and you have to go to the Ward House for tea and good food.

This is an out of the way gem. The museum is a great resource for learning the history of the local area. It was amazing to learn that there were so many people in Yale at one time - of course, there was gold to be found. My family was down gold panning on the Fraser River.

We were on a day trip up the historic Fraser Canyon. We had heard that the historic site was well worth the visit, and it certainly was. Lots of displays covering all aspects of life in Yale in the early days of British Columbia, including the Gold Rush of 1858. They need a bit of promotion, since it is so... More

Yale Historic Site is one of those jewels that you don't know what you're missing. I am so happy that we stopped in! This little museum as ALOT of interesting pieces. High quality exhibitions! The history of this area is very interesting, from the Gold Rush, to the Chinese workers that were brought in for building the railroads, to the... More

I rated this highly for the quality of the exhibits in a small town historical site. I visited this site on a quiet day, and had the opportunity to linger without interruption. The quality and comprehensiveness of the exhibits is excellent, and I was astounded at how well they are maintained. The tent city is unique and well done. The... More
