Great Notley Country Park covers some 100 acres of open space, which is managed for the benefit of wildlife and the community. The site was formerly arable farmland and has been transformed into a mixture of wetland and open grassland. Each of these habitats provides a haven for a variety of species. The site is home to Sky Ropes and Essex's longest play trail - 1.2km - including a giant see-saw, climbing forest, tyre swings, sand pits, rope climbers, slides, forts and a water play area (closed in the winter months), making it a great place for all ages to explore. The park is also popular for birdwatching, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, football, picnics and kite-flying. Our high ropes adventure is on two levels, so you can choose how high you want to go. Our specially trained staff will kit you out with a full body harness and brief you on safety on the ropes. Your Sky Ropes adventure lasts 75 minutes, including kitting out and safety briefing. As soon as you're on the ropes you can take yourself around the ropes, bridges and beams, choosing your own route and your own speed. It's your challenge - do it your way!

Appears uninviting at first. Close to noisy, busy road, separated by a large car park, which is quite adequate but could be more attractive. A parking payment is due before leaving; all monies collected will assist maintenance of Wildlife and facilities. The park, itself, however, is fine and appears to offer many activities for all the family. Noticed many children's... More

Great Notley Country Park is a superb place to go for most outdoor activities. We visit to walk and watch the world go by. We also take our Grandchildren (10, 11 & 15) who spend ages on giant see-saws, climbing frames, tyre swings, etc. We have gone kite flying in the past - the hill behind the centre is perfect... we used to come over there by car, it was so comfortable but not cheap because mainly of parking cost. we found easy ride way and we usually come by bike. Is healthy and quick. We love the place because there are a lot of attractions for our daughter. We can't wait better weather to go to the park more... More

Just returned from another great dog walk here. You can walk from or to the flitch where you can grab a great coffee, cake or massive bacon sandwich.

We have visitors great notley country park many times as there is so much to do here for everyone. I have a 5 year old son who loves to bring his remote control 4x4 and drive it all around the track. He also loves the wide choice of play areas which all have so me to offer. After we have... More

This is a relatively new park and is very popular. There are lakes, several play areas, a man made hill which serves as a venue for concerts etc. and a cafe. However it is not a particularly big park so you are unlikely to spend more than a couple of hours there so £4 for 3 hours is a rip... More

Half term activity to entertain the kids and exercise the dog at the same time. Good range of free-access wooden adventure play equipment, ranging from the basic to the challenging, but we thought the 'Skyropes' looked less interesting than it ought to be as a charged attraction. Good amenities provided - toilets and a cafe. Muddy underfoot in places, of... More
