Lots of facilities around the dam for a picnic or fishing, good boat ramps. Fish cleaning facilities, barbecues, toilets. plenty of spots to get away from crowds or have a large family gathering.

Beautiful picnic areas Loads of local camp grounds The Dam gets quite busy in Summer but can really handle the traffic. Local Council do a wonderful job maintaining the area, highly recommend a visit.

We have a motor home and, en route to Esk (see my review) we stopped at the Somerset Dam. The location is superb but no pets are welcome, as, I believe, is the case with all national parks, I believe.

Somerset Dam has got to be one of the most picturesque 10000 acre plots of water around!! The history of the place alone would be enough to absorb most deep thinkers for a good while over a cool Chablis out of the esky!! But if...More

This is a beautiful place to visit. Depending on the time of day it could be a little bit noisy with speed boats, but the water is so big they soon disappear. Lots of wildlife to see.

I'm not sure. You would have to contact them directly as I am unsure of their rules regarding dogs on the premises or in cars at the Dam. :)

Hi Aren. We didnt look at any rental places, but I think the northern end of Somerset estuary has canoes for hire. The river park is under the bridge at the very north end of Somerset.
