Very nice trip with a lot of people though. I have seen something between 5-8 sharks including babies from a very close distance. It was really really nice and I recommend it to everybody.

Lovely to see so many healthy young corals growing and I esp enjoyed seeing the sharks. I half dived half snorkelled during my trip. Pigeon island gets really busy for a more interesting experience you might want to consider scuba diving with Nilaveli Diving Centre...More

Rather barren island, so take whatever you need when you visit. Great snorkelling, 2 resident black-tip reef sharks, lots of marine life, some beautiful corals, well worth a trip for the non-diver.

It nice coral reef. You can see here turtles, sharks, lobsters and more than 300 types of fishes. Best time to come 8 at the morning on first boat. Only till 9 at the morning possible to see turtles and sharks

Reef sharks can be seen when snorkeling in Pigeon Island National Park, about 20 feet off the shore. However turtles are deeper in the reef and quite shy of people. May need to go in about 50 feet off the shore. Therefore... More

Every hotel/guesthouse in Nilaveli can help you in organizing your trip to Pigeon Island - as an alternative, you can just go to the beach and ask to local people. Everyone knows someone who can take you there. No problem at... More
I think there is a trail around the island. I have been there and followed the trail to the top of the island where you can see almost entire island from that spot. And pigeons too
