It is indeed an old beauty, if you are in area it's very much worth seeing! It won't take much of your time but you will be surprised by the castle, especially the view from the tower.

We stopped by here on our way to Jelenia Gora, and were very glad we did. Well-maintained ancient castle which you have free run of. The views from the tower were fabulous (narrow, low-ceiling stairway up though). Neat stop-off for an hour or two. There was a busload of seniors exiting as we came in, so not too awful stenuous,... It's 1 of 11 castles in the region. It has not had much restoration but still something to see. There are still so many unhidden treasures in this castle which makes it very mysterious to visitors and residence of the area. The staircase to the top is worth the leg burn. Keep your head low, it is a low ceiling.

Well maintained medieval castle, with a nice view over the region. There are some steeper passageways to climb, but it is totally worth it. It is in the town, so everything is close, some nice restaurants, small grocery store, parking place at the entrance. Well known for the famous independent Gothic festival which is attracting more and more alternative people.

The castle is a nice visit, however there is not much more to do in the village Bolków (or it must be thew Biedronka- supermarket). The entrace is 7 zlotych (1.75 euro) and the views are nice. You can buy souvenirs there and have a drink.

The castle is placed on a nice hill. When you get there, you don't have to climb aby higher to see beautiful surroundings. You can access almost all parts od it which makes it great fun for kids. Nice trip for a family afternoon.

Above the town of Bolków, Poland, stand the ruins of Bolków Castle, built in the 13th century. We visited this historic site in May 2013. Partially destroyed during the Thirty Years War, it is reported the castle became a property of Grüssau Abbey in 1703. There has been some restoration of this castle but considerably more work is required. Since... More
