What was the purpose of these underground structures. Why should so many prisoners die during the work to create this underground world. I don’t think I got the answers. But the visit to this place is SO interesting. Fantastic made with movies and projections along the way. The guide was only Polish speaking but the option to rent an English audio guide ensures the full experience. We combined this visit with a visit to Gross-Rosen - well worth a day to learn more about European history and cruelty.

The tour is well prepared,.
Make sure to wear warm clothes as there is only 6 to 10 C inside all year round.
There is a free parking, toilets and the restaurant.

Travelled as a solo traveller to here whilst working in Wroclaw. Very easy to find with SatNav or Waze using the co-ordinates N50.66988, E16.41845, although single-lane roads in some places but all tarmaced. Nice cafe at site although main toilet block outside was closed and huge queues for the cafe toilet, so just popped into the woods !
You can only visit on guided tours, mainly on the hour, and to my knowledge only in Polish but you can rent a nice audio guide and each place the guide stops there is a number displayed (not always clear but he will call it out if you ask) and this provides a nice summary of where you are stood, although quite a bit shorter than what he says.
When you come out you can explore in the hills above the complex and can see some amazing structures on ground level, that supported the tunnel complex below. Pretty easy to find as just follow the black route and its prob a 30-40 min loop back to the tunnel entrance.
Highly recommend. I did a few of the various tunnel complexes in the area and this was by far the best.

This was worth the hour and a half drive from our Wroclaw hotel. The tour was an hour long with a guide who only spoke polish BUT they have audio guides in various languages. The 10 stations are clearly marked 1-10. Mind you that this place in is the side of a mountain in the middle of no where and was very educational. It seems that the tours only for individuals are on the hour. I cant say enough how Kool is was because the hour tour went by so fast.

It takes some effort to go off course from your itinerary to get to this part of the world. The tunnels themselves are still a work in progress and in speaking to people who saw it last year it seems like it is getting better each year. With that in mind it may pay to wait a couple more years. There is a very basic cafe at the site and it may be worth going in the warmer months so you can enjoy a hike in the area. Make sure you have warm clothes for the tunnel tour as it is eight degrees underground all year round. Ie a warm jacket, pants and a scarf at a minimum. They give you a met that you just wear so that gives some warmth.

We came here first thing in the morning when they opened and there were no audioduides already! so we had to wait for two hours. It's absurd, we checked their web site the night before and no info on this!! And this happened to all of non polish speakers who were in line with us. The drive here is long so make reservations or go with the travel agency.

We are very sorry that lack of audio guides influenced your whole rating. We have 25 audio guides. We see now that it is not enough when we have many tourists from abroad at the same time. That what happened last sunday. We gave audio guides at 10.15 and at 10.30 and that is why we didn't have more at 11.00.

We really liked the tour Osowka which we had as a part of the team building. Professional translator and guides which were engaging and had very good knowledge of the history. Extreme version of the tour is recommended if you want to have more fun together :) Especially we liked the guide at the extreme part of the tour he made us laugh with his special sense of humour :)

It was not the same I expected, a nazi bunker sounds really interesting, but it just a big hole, after all, and by comparison expensive.
Besides that, there was a couple of mistakes in the organizing. We registered for an "extreme tour" (contain an underground boat trip), the reply e-mail was in Polish, despite we used English in letter. They wrote, the beginning is at 16:15. We arrived at 16:17, a bit late because the closures on roads. The cashier imparted, it's too late, the group is already underground, we should have arrived 20 minutes before that time... So needed to wait almost an hour for a basic tour.
In addition, on the website you can read, they don't accept card, nonetheless I saw a card terminal at the cash register... It was unpleasant because we forced to hunt for an exchange to buy złotys.
So finally got inside, at first time it's seems cool, but after 20 minutes eventually you don't see any interesting. Concrete and stone walls, dark and wet cavities. There are just a few exhibition items, although the bunker was despoiled before, I think they could put there more things to see.
So, if you decided to visit it, prepare the follow things:
Darkness: the lighting is not the best, for about the one third of the lamps are not working, more times I forced to light with my phone.
Difficult terrain: there are many bumps and pits, in addition darkness, so it could be dangerous. I nearly broke my footfinger because an unmarked sill..
Cold and wet: It's suggestable to wear waterproof shoes and warm clothes, even it's summer on ground.
Ps.: parking is not free, the lounge is expensive, and the hole is for about 200 m from visitor center via a dirt road, the but the nearby forest is beautiful.

Dear tourists from abroad you are very welcome to visit our amazing place: Underground city of Osowka. You will hear incredible history and you will see greatness of undergrounds made by human hands during World War II. For your trip to go well you need to rent an audio guide or ask for guide how speaks your language, for example Czech or English. You don't need to have cash, we accept cards. Undergrounds are bright enough and all lights work properly. You need to know that undergrounds are very specific to visit, sometimes it can be wet, cold, some surfaces are uneven so you need to be very careful. Because of that our attraction is unique. We invite all tourists from abroad to visit our incredible Osowka complex. If you follow our instructions and prepare for specific conditions that we have in our undergrounds, along with your friends you will remember your stay in Lower Silesia for a very long time

Another massive tunnel built by the Germans. This one has 2 stories inside, some caved in. There are 3 entrances to this tunnel. Must take a guide. English is available. When I look at these tunnels I think of the dying and suffering of the prisoners who were force to build them. A must see to get a feeling of the past.

No need to book tickets in advance, you simply buy them and enter, but the tours are guided so they take place at specified times - depending on the type of tour (you can choose from many options - standard that takes 1 hours, extreme - standard + 30 min extreme tour, etc...)

It's quite far, you need to take a train to Wrocław, which takes about 4 hrs and from there there will still be like 50 km to reach the place. Alternatively you can go to Walbrzych (5 hrs) and from there take a taxi (about 20km will be left)

Hi, Osowka is around 335km from Krakow. The most efficient way to come is by car. But you can also try taking a train to Wrocław, next one to Walbrzych, and third to Gluszyca.
