Spent two nights in Hanley and on the 30th May 2018, having read trip advisor, walked all the way to the Coachmakers to find that it is now Closed. Apparently, the closure was quite sudden and unexpected but it remains closed despite appeals in the...More

What a lovely venue. Great little pub with separate snugs. Unchanged for years. Good real ale with Wainwright on offer at our time of visiting. What pubs used to be like. We loved being able to order through the side door to the 'main' bar...More

The pub is a wonder. The real deal. Four separate rooms, including a tiny snug and two of the rooms have real fires. Did I mention the outside toilet? Threatened with closure for most of the last decade to make way for a new expansion...More

On a visit to Stoke I took my wife because we used to visit regularly about 30 years ago. It's still the same. Friendly staff and locals and good ales. If you like good old fashioned pubs, this is one for you.

Proper old pub with four separate rooms to sit in. The smallness of the rooms and lack of loud music, gaming machines etc means that people talk to other, and isn't that the point of ia good public house, to have a drink and to...More

Dont get me wrong, i like an old pub i like character which this place does have, but the smell of the place just put me off. Agree with the below comments though that it is definitely untouched though wouldnt return here in a hurry.

Been to this pub on a recommendation of a friend they do a decent pint bit pricy. The girl behind the bar seems friendly but the others could have been bit more friendly. Cosy little pub with what I can say is lot of character.
