We love driving to El chorro lakes for the day. Avoid weekends as it gets so busy but midweek is perfect. Lots of picnic tables and sunbeds to hire. The wibbit inflatable is perfect to keep the kids happy at only €10 per hour and...More

Having been up and down this stretch of coastline a lot over the years we ventured into the hills just north of Malaga to the 'Spanish Lake District', an orienteering paradise of trails to walk with incredible scenery and wildlife but also a pleasant family...More

El Chorro is a small village just over an hour or so from Marbella. In itself, it is unremarkable. It has a train station, a few buildings, a hotel and not too much else. However, it just happens to be located amongst some stunning rock...More

We arrived at the wrong entrance (by the Caminito del Rey exit) so the lady kindly redirected us to the right area where we could swim and rent paddle boats with slides on! We parked in a parking lot that had toilets and a kiosk...More

Lovely turquoise lakes, the Caminito Del Rey walk, the Dams, a few little bars/cafes, Ardales Park. A lovely place to visit for a day or two. Scenery to die for.

Went around the lakes and rivers rather than going into the common tourist way - there are so many of them there so the feeling of wilderness is completely lost.

Wonderful views and photo opportunities all around, not very busy when we were there just after Easter. Weather can obviously impact sights and things change considerably as the weather changes, will try visiting again to get dusk or dawn images, lovely walks and a couple...More

We visited in early spring, the weather was cold but still very beautiful. Near Caminitos and a lot of walking trails, or cykling. Takes around 2 hours driving from Malaga.

The roads in and around El Chorro and a bikers delight. Our riders always enjoy our day circuit from Antequera to El Chorro

The distance is a lot, so going on foot is not recommended. There is a bus from the El Chorro-Caminito del Rey train station which goes right up to the lake. The ticket cost is 1.55 Euros. I think the bus runs every one... More

The whole area is worth a visit. I know people who have just turned up at the entrance to the walk and got tickets. It may be worth trying this. If they refuse you can visit the lakes nearby.
