Organized like National or State Parks in North America, with large parking lots, picnic area, restaurant, visitor center, bathrooms. We enjoyed watching wildlife throughout the day, and started we a guided tour without additional fee. Trails are very well maintained with a dozen watching areas...More

Great nature reserve for bird watching. Depending on seasons, migrations and tides, many species can be easily observed from the bird hides. You can share and learn with staff along the trail and informations are provided in several languages. Note that it opens at 10...More

I suggest searching for the full title, 'LE part du marquenterre'. I have posted a more detailed review there but trust me, it's good.

We stumbled across this place on a rainy morning. We'd check as we arrived and knew there was a cafe which opened at 12. Timing was perfect as the rain stopped at 1pm by which time we'd had the chance to enjoy the wonderful food...More

This is probably the best day's birdwatching I've ever experienced. The site is well maintained, quiet and the variety of birds and closeness to the hides is fantastic. For waders (ruff, lapwing, stilts, avocets), storks, spoonbills, egrets & herons and even a flamingo - plus...More

Greatly expanded since our last visit 20 years ago, and all the more spectacular, even if we weren't there at the height of the nesting season. Still many birds to see, including storcks and herons. A very beautiful place!

Nicely laid out walk paths with lots of observatories. Very friendly and knowledgable guides always willing to tell more about the birds. Went there in April: amazing amounts of storks building nests. This time in July: less birds, but I still enjoyed the walk.

We have visited twice in 4 years and enjoyed the area very much. We have seen lots of beautiful birds, herons, storks, cranes, godwits, grebes, to name a few, depending on the time of year, and liked the 3 connecting walks of 2,4 and 6...More
