- Frances A4 contributionsExcellent tourI was engaged throughout my tour of the fort, despite having little interest in or knowledge of military history. This was because our guide was very knowledgeable and had the gift of communicating this knowledge to the average person. He explained the historical context and related what I saw to my existing knowledge. My husband is more interested and more knowledgeable and still enjoyed the tour just as much. I didn’t enjoy the museum as much, but I would still recommend you to visit.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 December 2022

- Karen J3 contributionsGreat day outGreat place we found it last year when walking around the head land and finally yesterday got a chance to go back and visit. I so glad we did the guide for the tour was so informative, the amount of information he gave with no prompts or reminders was amazing! We really enjoyed finding out about the history of the fort and the items the have recovered to go in it. The owner’s collection of war time items was fascinating too. A great variety of things done extremely rare and a joy to see. If like us you are interested in history and local wartime things this is a must. That said you don’t have to be a history geek to enjoy the tour either as it’s give in a simple way sharing the history of the fort and those who lived and protected us by being there. The cafe is worth a visit to lovely lunches and cakes available along side local icecream. We look forward to going back when they have restored and opened up more of it as it’s a fascinating place.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 June 2023

It’s only due to the volunteers that historic places like this are kept for us to visit. Chapel Bay Fort Museum also has a great little tea/coffee shop for refreshments. What a wonderful hidden gem, informative short guided tour with Brian who gave us history of the fort and some of the gun emplacements and other artillery and ordnance collection. There's a cafe on site serving, amongst other things, the most delicious cake. Open Saturday and Sunday with tours at various times.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 July 2023
- Adam L1 contributionWell worth the tripA hidden gem in West Wales, this museum was surprisingly full given its size. With an extensive collection of weapons and equipment from the last 300 years, a well-stocked tea room (essential for any Brit) and plenty of knowledgeable staff to ask questions to, our visit was an excellent start to our holiday. The fort itself was a fascinating location. While we wish we could've explored a bit more of it ourselves, H&S and a colony of spiders lurking in the dungeons unfortunately prevented it. Despite this, our guided tour took us around a large part of the fort and showed off the history of the location splendidly. 9/10Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 September 2023

It was bucketing with rain when we arrived and did our tour but this only bought home to us what a desolate posting this must have been for the soldiers operating the battery for all those years
The place is run by volunteers who do a top job in the cafe but especially the ex army tour guide top bloke and very knowledgable
Finally I was not expecting the standard of the military equipment on display which is exceptional.
Very pleased we made the journey out to see this fort and I hope others get the opportunity to see this fascinating slice of our history

Owners are very judgemental as soon as we walked in we were getting spoke about by the staff that worked there. Lady in cafe owners wife is extremely rude and has no customer service skills. So expensive for what it is not worth the time or energy going.

An unexpected gem on our holiday to Pembrokeshire. We were treated to a very informative guided tour around the fort and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. They were more than happy to answer any questions thrown at them from inquesitive 12,10 and 8 year olds. There was also lovely tea and cake in the cafe afterwards!
