Great place we found it last year when walking around the head land and finally yesterday got a chance to go back and visit. I so glad we did the guide for the tour was so informative, the amount of information he gave with no prompts or reminders was amazing! We really enjoyed finding out about the history of the fort and the items the have recovered to go in it. The owner’s collection of war time items was fascinating too. A great variety of things done extremely rare and a joy to see. If like us you are interested in history and local wartime things this is a must. That said you don’t have to be a history geek to enjoy the tour either as it’s give in a simple way sharing the history of the fort and those who lived and protected us by being there. The cafe is worth a visit to lovely lunches and cakes available along side local icecream. We look forward to going back when they have restored and opened up more of it as it’s a fascinating place.

Fantastic couple of hours spent af Chapel Bay Fort, the conducted tour is a must.
My nine year old boy was fascinated by the military weapons such as small arms to massive field guns.
The tour is very worth while as the guide knows the history of everything that is on display and is so very passionate about it.
I am born and bred in Pembrokeshire and didn't know this place existed.
There is a coffee/tea room with certain foods available which is very reasonably priced compared to some cafe's in the county.
Well worth a visit you won't be disappointed.

Enjoy a one hour tour with very friendly volunteers and learn about the military history of the fort, the lives of those who worked there and imagine using all the armaments. The building has been very well restored and we learnt a great deal about the structure and the WW2 plans in the area.
If you have ever wondered how a bomb or a gun works, what it weighs, the distance it can travel and the damage it can do then this is the place to find out. The displays take you through the ages and there is a guide on hand to answer all your questions. This is the first time we have seen a torpedo from a submarine, a cluster bomb, an AK47 and a host of other armaments from field guns to tanks.
As an added bonus the cafe serves the best sausage rolls we have ever had, plus other snacks and cakes, drinks etc. We enjoyed lunch outside at a reasonable cost.

First time visiting since 2015, when I visited with my father. I have to say it’s not what it used to be. Started the visit with a stop at the cafe, I opted for a sausage roll which was nice, while my partner went for a turkey sandwich. Sandwich was prepared without gloves, and took more than 10 minutes as only one member of staff continued to serve customers while we waited. We then asked can we go through to the museum which we paid slightly less for as we did not want the guided tour, this is something new. When my father and I visited a few years ago we did not have to be guided around, and we’re free to roam the fort. I assume it must be a safety issue. However on my last visit I had an impromptu tour from the owner, this is now something that costs extra. The museum had not changed very much, and I was sad to hear we could not explore the rest of the fort on our own and see the vehicles without a tour guide. Another member of staff was also rude and asked where we were going without a guide, when we walking towards the museum. If you are going for the first time probably best to go for a guided tour to see it all as the museum is not worth it alone if you have already been. Quite overpriced so probably worth just doing it the once.

Owners are very judgemental as soon as we walked in we were getting spoke about by the staff that worked there. Lady in cafe owners wife is extremely rude and has no customer service skills. So expensive for what it is not worth the time or energy going.

Visited Chapel Bay Fort and Museum whilst holidaying in the area, stumbled across it whilst on a walk from Angle beach. What a wonderful hidden gem, informative short guided tour with Brian who gave us history of the fort and some of the gun emplacements and other artillery and ordnance collection.
There's a cafe on site serving, amongst other things, the most delicious cake.
Open Saturday and Sunday with tours at various times.

Highly Recommended, thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour by the extremely knowledgeable John. It’s only due to the volunteers that historic places like this are kept for us to visit.
Chapel Bay Fort Museum also has a great little tea/coffee shop for refreshments.
Do visit if your in the area it’s well worth it.

Fab way to spend a little time particularly if you have an interest in military artefacts. Several rooms with exhibits that you can explore on your own and then we had a small tour of with a very knowledgeable volunteer. We bumped into the owner / curator who also has a wealth of knowledge too. Great to see one of the forts being maintained and accessible to visitors. Lovely little cafe with sandwiches etc made to order. Inside and outside seating that you can access without entering the museum.

A most interesting guided tour with a knowledgeable tour guide who welcomed any questions. Very interesting to see the various items of militaria and to take in the peace and quiet whilst enjoying some refreshments from the cafe. Would recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

I was engaged throughout my tour of the fort, despite having little interest in or knowledge of military history. This was because our guide was very knowledgeable and had the gift of communicating this knowledge to the average person. He explained the historical context and related what I saw to my existing knowledge. My husband is more interested and more knowledgeable and still enjoyed the tour just as much. I didn’t enjoy the museum as much, but I would still recommend you to visit.
