Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A good excursion with children to entertain on a rainy day in August. It’s pet-friendly, it means you can enter with your pet by transport or in your arms, but for large dogs they only have one cart, so I took us an hour to wait because previous users took it easy. There is also no snack, but they let you sit on the terrace of the bar with your snacks, and consume a water or soft drink there.

We visited on a slightly overcast day with our grandson who is 2. He absolutely adores dinosaurs and so all of the model ones in the caves were great for him.
There was also a pond with real fish.
We all enjoyed walking through the caves and reading about the history of the caves and seeing the rock formations etc.
Afterwards we sat and had a drink and played in the small children’s play area.
The whole place was clean and well organised and definitely worth a visit.

The cave is nice, but the "decoration" is pathetic. It takes away all the fun, rubber dinosaurs, dolls with crappy wigs and... is it necessary to sell toilets in a grotto? I only recommend it to go with very young children. I will not come back.

You can find this cave just outside Benidoleig. There is a small restaurant and shop with a parking lot. You have to buy a ticket to visit the cave. The entrance fee is 3,50 euro and I think that is fair because the cave is maintained in good order, clean and with good lightning.
The cave has a length of about 300 metres and is easily accessible because it has a wooden walkway all through to the end, where you cannot any further because there is a deep opening where you can see a underwater river flow at the bottom. The two times we have been there, there were hardly any other visitors, so it is very nice to walk along the walkway without seeing too much other people.
You can see stalarites, stalagmites and large domes of more than 50 metres height. It is easy to see that this cave was a very good dwelling for big groups of stone age people. There are plenty of flat places where a whole family could live and sleep. Tools and animal remains were found, dating from the Stone Age. Archeologists estimate that the cave was used as a dwelling for humans for as long as 100.000 years.
The cave is called 'The Cave of the Kadavers' because 12 human skeletons were found in the eighteenth century, believed to be of Morish farmers in the Middle Ages who were trapped by rising water.
The cave was opened to the public in the 1960's. Although it has some touristy elements, like specimens of rocks and minerals in the huge entrance dome of the cave, this is not a put-off.

Drove up from Benidorm. Simple and easy to find and at €3.50 per head cheap and good value. Took teenagers with learning difficulties and they loved the fossils and the way the place is presented.
Have been to other limestone caves qith a lot more stalactites and formations but these are worth a trip.
Definitely recommend it.

An small set of caves with a modest café and gift shop attached. Worth the stop if you are driving inland up the mountains. The scene setting in the caves is ahem, rather original, including a family of « prehistoric « plastic dolls set in a niche. The gift shop has the most extensive collection of novelty phallus bottle openers for miles around, to be admired over a plate of tapas.

A nice day trip out to see a bit of the countryside and visit the caves.A very large entrance to the cave with access via steps or a ramp. Some models and fossils in the front and the a wooden walkway goes right through making a pleasant walk.Suitable for the less mobile.Cave illuminated so you get lovely views of the stalactites and stalag mites took some lovely photos. Would recommend.

Caves had good information about the landscape and history. Lots of fossils and bone fragments to look at. A nice hour in a cool ( temperature) cave when it has been very hot. Cafe had good coffee and ice lollies. Play area needs a revamp, but that is not the main attraction here. Caves are easily accessible, not that far to walk as the tunnel is quite short. A nice hour with the family.

Es accesible para sillas de ruedas? Gracias
Written 6 May 2019
Me sorprendió que fuera accesible para sillas de ruedas, es decir que es accesible para personas con movilidad reducida y cochecitos de bebé.
Es la única que he visitado con pasillos anchos y adaptados.
