Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Cirque De Moureze is a natural park of limestone rocks eroded by wind and water over millions of years, yielding unusual and eccentric shapes. We hiked the easy yellow-trail (Route des Courtinals) which starts at the visitor centre and ends in the village of Moureze. It took us a little over an hour. The signposting certainly has cope for improvement. Great trek, must-do when in the area.

Have been staying in the area for many years and this was our fist time at Moureze. The weather was extremely hot and although we were prepared even the short walk was tough. The early part of the route was well marked but we struggled to find the split point between the short and long walks. It didn't matter (we had Pocket Earth) as we found some trails and made our way into the village. Will definitely come back when the weather is cooler.

Took the kids and grandparents for a picnic and then did the shorter, circular walk. We all loved walking through the rocks (and climbing all over them). Walk finishes in Moureze and there's a few cafes and restaurants to choose from afterwards if you need an ice cream / food / beer, as we did! Fantastic day out here. Really recommended for people who love the outdoors.

It was a harder hike than we thought, but most enjoyable, the views were fantastic. And we enjoyed a coffee and cake in the village. Also the local jams.

We arrived on a sunny spring morning and paid our 2 euros to park. A very helpful German lady provided us with as many English language leaflets as she could find.
We wandered into the village and followed the signs around the cirque. There are 3 different walks depending on your time and fitness levels. We did the short walk as we were planning a visit to the nearby Lac de Salagou as well. This is not a walk for those with mobility difficulties. DO take bottles of water on a hot day. Be prepared to do the equivalent of a step class up and down the rocks. But this maintains it as nature intended.
The sound of insects, warm scent of wild rosemary, and fantastic scenery made this a memorable couple of hours. The dolomite are spectacular and the view through them to the village at the end of the walk is what chocolate boxes were made for.
Do visit.

We did the shorter walk but we were not advised on footwear, fitness or sufficient information about the route. A diagrammatic map map makes Point 2 not too far from Point 3. In fact it’s a good 30- 40 min walk with narrow passages. However, it’s a great walk and a good achievement for anyone of 65+.

It is hard to have so much in such a small area - quaint village, rather rare geological formations, art studio - one only wishes, although perhaps out of mere touristic greed, that the chateau were open to visitors - it has a long and distinguished history - but, even in ruins, one can imagine its importance on the Nimes-Toulouse route. The area has been continuously inhabited for more than 7000 years, and this type of geology is only one of four in France, so definitely worth a stop or even a hike. Hiking maps are available, but one can enjoy the area without too much effort. Camera is recommended in any case.

Unusual and with some great views. However, there are some steep drops, the route isn't that well signposted and the paths have a lot of loose stones. Not for the immobile.
Car park is 3 Euros. You can either walk 7K or do a shorter walk of 2K from the Courtinales entrance.

This is an area of breathtaking scenery with some good facilities. Parking is available on the way in to Moureze, for the cost of a few euros, with shady spaces, a toilet block, and some very nice and helpful staff who will give you a walking map of the area.
There are different signposted options for shorter or longer walks; we chose the shorter route of a few km (perfectly fine for me at 7mo pregnant), which took us through some stunning landscapes with great views and relatively easy terrain.
Be aware that the turning for the shorter route is signposted, so if you think you've reached it but there's no sign, you should probably carry on a bit- there are a number of small paths leading from the main one but on the whole the route is well marked with yellow arrows and crosses.
A really beautiful place and one of the highlights of our holiday.

We spent a week in the Languedoc and loved going to Moureze! We are a family of 4 with daughters who are 6 and 8 and we explored the LE PARC DES COURTINALS. The views were amazing and it was one of the highlights of our week. We parked in the village and didn't go as far up as it sounds like some other reviewers went but still had beautiful views and it was not too challenging for the children. We would love to go back again when they are older.

Hi, Sharawagi, Do you know the name of the village you visited? There are several nearby. I'm trying to figure out which one you see at the start of the Cirque de Moureze video I see on youtube...Thanks!

je ne comprends pas votre question, je me suis rendu direction cirque de Mourez, j'ai traversé un tout petit village ''Mourez'' et des panneaux nous indiquent la direction des départs de randonnées.
