I thoroughly enjoy this beach. It has adequate surf and amenities. Plus its got a nice river mouth for family and children to enjoy the water when the surf is too rough and/or cold. To be honest this is the beach that makes me want to come back to Ericeira again and again each summer.

Great, clean beach, with fantastic views (even in bad weather conditions) and plenty of cafes and surf rentals around. Family friendly.

This is our first surfing holiday and For Do Lizandro was highly recommend, and it has not disappointed. The surf break has been perfect for us beginners on the rising tide, and there is plenty of green waves for the more advanced to challenge themselves.
The beach it self is lovely, nice gently shallows at low tide and a good size beach. The stream offers a safe haven for younger swimmers meaning the the beach caters for all.
The cafes and restaurants offer some great food, and there are plenty of places to rent water sports equipment. Several surf schools from Ericeira use the beach, and Na Onda is based right there on the beach. We had lessons with them and they were excellent.
Parking is plentiful and free which makes it a very accessible location.
Great beach, good for all, with good amenities and decent surf; hard to ask for more really!

This place has an amazing location with an amazing view. To see the view you need clean windows. They are filthy. Prices are way beyond normal in Ericeira specially for drinks. Food is average but everyone had to ask for extra seasoning. In summary, if you want the only place in Ericeira to dine at the beach at night, this is the place. But it needs improvements

This beach is perfect for families as there is a good stretch of sand, some big waves for surfing and a river off to the side for a paddle with younger children.
There is also a selection of bars and restaurants at the top, so an ideal way to spend a few hours just outside Ericeira.

The water was cold, which is typical for northern Portugal in September. The lovely sandbar where a river feeds into the ocean makes it a perfect hangout for families with small children. We were impressed with the number of nice looking and fit young people ( some with kids)out there for a good time.
Thatched umbrellas and seats are available for rental with restaurants that serve vegan food ( great falafel) and sangrias. There is also plenty of parking.
This is a beautiful and clean beach that is a perfect destination if you are looking for either a relaxing time or activity.

Great beach for all, very large, all sand. It shelves into the water quickly but there’s a sand bar straight after it so not so deep. Great for surfing (I watched not participated), you can body surf in on the waves. No large stones or pebbles in the water that I experienced. Some good bars in the beach, plenty of parking too

My wife and I rented a motorcycle and ended up at this beach by way of a small unmarked road. The parking at the top was a long way from the beach so we turned around and drove right to the front with the other motos and parked. The car lot was packed at 11am!
We spotted a restaurant offering vegan food as we headed toward to beach. At the very end of the boardwalk to the right is a beach chair and umbrella rental. For €15 we were set for the day.
After swimming in the cold, refreshing Atlantic we strolled to grab some food and amazing sangrias! Several surfboard and wetsuit rentals and camps offer hourly and all day rentals.
Excellent family beach and overall Top 5 in the World for us so far!

A lovely sandy beach with a shallow river running into the sea. Fabulous location for families with children who can experience the sea and the river and explore the river and rocks.
Ample parking in the area and there are also some eateries next to the beach, be aware though that it will be slightly more expensive than what you may have become used in the north of Portugal.
This is a beginner to average surfers dreams beach and there were a lot of surfers out with some youngsters being put through their paces by the surfing schools. What was really awesome to see, was the amazing amount of female surfers out and about enjoying the surf - super kudos to them and the role models they are!!
Considering the time of year, the beach was never overcrowded and there was plenty of space for everyone, although to be fair, it might still be early in the season and the weather wasn't exactly blistering hot.
Definitely would come back to this part of Portugal and I was as ever, super impressed by how friendly the Portuguese are. So much so, that whilst you are butchering their language, they are keen to point you in the right direction, which only encourages you to learn more.

From Ericeira take the N247 south. After 2km in Foz do Lizandro take a right ramping down to the parking lot near the beach 🏄♂️
