Jan the 28th / 29th we were in the lakes for my wife's birthday. Saturday our booked activities were cancelled, Sunday we were let down by event organisers. Someone suggested Rookin house to me, they saved the day. We got there and did clay pigeon shooting and off road driving. The whole team were fantastic, very friendly and good to be around, as was Fred the dog. I would highly recommend Rookin house to anyone for some great adventures.

We booked an hours archery and quad biking with our 2 teenage children. My husband and I had been there before with friends doing go carting, quad biking & archery and had had great fun. Will took us for archery again today and made it really enjoyable, encouraging us to all interact (we were a group of 4 with a couple) and set interesting, fun challenges. The hour went really fast and we really enjoyed it. Will is really helpful, enthusiastic and knowledgable after being clearly involved in the business from an early age. Quad biking - we had a great time with Alistair today, as we had 2 under 18’s they were on the smaller quad bikes and as their mum I was a little nervous but once out there Alistair kept a really close eye on them stopping to help and give direction in a way that helped them increase their confidence and thoroughly enjoy every minute. This isn’t it an experience for those wishing to be nice and clean, it’s immersive, be prepared to get muddy and get involved and it’s great fun. Nice to be in a real farm with real hard working people in a family environment diversifying in an amazing location.

What an amazing team! Everyone is so lovely and welcoming i really couldn’t recommend this enough. My boyfriend surprised me with horse riding, quad biking, clay pigeon shooting and more and i absolutely loved it! Will 100% be coming back in the future thankyou so much for making it such a fun day🥰

What a fantastic day we had. It was so much fun and loads of activities to choose from. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and made the day more special. We would go back again to try out more of the activities. The best one of the day was the go karting and quad biking! We also did clays, archery and off reading which were also great fun. Absolutely amazing weekend, the activities were brilliant and you never felt rushed, all the staff were fabulous and a credit to the centre. We went to the loft bar snd the singer was fabulous big thanks to Alastair the owner he was such a good host and not a bad singer either. My friend and our children went horse riding and played archery at Rookin house. The riding was fantastic and Michelle was a wonderful guide. It was the first time riding for the kids and they absolutely loved it. The horses were beautiful and so calm. We also did an archery activity. Will led this session for us and made it really fun. He made it a fantastic experience for all of us. Thanks Will, Michelle, Debbie and all the team at Rookin House. We will definitely be returning.

Fab experience in a beautiful setting. We were on holiday in the area and booked a horse riding session for the whole family. We were all total novices, having only been on horses a few times before, and two of our party were quite nervous but the staff were friendly and helpful and ensured that we were all safe. Even the most nervous of us said they'd had fun!

I took my niece for her first riding lesson. Rachel her instructor was brilliant, she was friendly, attentive and gave clear instruction. My niece loved her lesson, she thought Rachel was lovely and gave her confidence, she was rising trot by the end of the lesson. Breeze was a darling too, horses looked well cared for and fit.

A great facility with lots of different activities to take part in. Our group did horse riding, fishing and carting, everyone had a great time. Cheap teas/coffee & crisps/sweets too.

We have just finished an activity day at Rookin House, and what an incredible day it was! A huge thank you to Joe, Al, James and the rest of the Rookin house staff for being amazing and down to earth hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and all went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic day. They were even able to accommodate a very last minute booking to do Go Karts… which I have to say was so much fun! All activities (air rifles, archery, clay pigeon shooting, quad bikes, Go Karts) were truly amazing experiences and couldn’t have asked for better instructors. Information for each activity was clear, precise and demonstrated. Thanks for a wonderful day, and hope to come back again in the future. George & Emily
