Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You should visit here with your kids. It is better to start your visit before afternoon cause it will took nearly 2-3 hours. There kinds of monkeys, birds, fishes, lion, tiger, zebra, giraffe in the first attraction these are enough I think.
The prices are considerably good.
In the entrance phase you think it is small but it is quite big, and has cafes and a restaurant also a gift shop in side.
It is better to visit except winter and before noon time.

This is the only zoo that I know of in Istanbul Area. It is about 1 hour drive from old city. The zoo has many animals on display, including birds and fish. It is not a very large zoo, so this should not be a primary attraction if you have one close to you near home. During winters (when we visited twice - once in Feb 2014 and once in Feb 2015), many attraction were not available either due to the cold season or due to renovation.

We went there on our way to Sapanca from Istanbul. We stayed there for one hour, however, if you want to see all the animals, you need a minimum of two hours. The place is nice and has a big variety of animals. It also has nice cafes to have a rest after your long walk. Recommended for families with kids.

Tourists beware. There is no clear pricing structure and they double the prices for the tourists. On the website it’s 200 lira and they asked for 400 lira when we got there.
When I asked about the price difference they said there is different price for the foreigners. Although there absolutely nothing mentioning foreigners on the website.
I contacted Turkish people I know and they said that’s not true. We ended up not entering.
Very dishonest people running the cashier.

think twice before you visit this zoo. I found the entry fees are very expensive and most of the cages were empty. this place is a walking park more than a zoo. it took me hours to find my directions to see the big cats and I gave up at the end of the day. very sad and disappointed as it took me 70 minutes to get there for basically nothing

I am against the idea of all zoos, but this one is really savage. You even feel sorry for the crocodiles. The poor giraffes are put in a closed room with a window. The hippo cant even raise its head, as if it was asking for help with its eyes. I had to go because it is part of the package.

Terrible. It's a prison for innocent animals. Some get hot in summer and some get cold in winter. Poor animals. It's really terrible that I have went there and supported this place with my money.

It is a small zoo needs only 1 to 2 hours to see every thing,
If you have seen Singapore or Thailand zoo then this one is too small and far less animals to see, enjoy it !

Very much hills, do not go here with a stroller and kids. Very exhausting because of the much hills and if you are travelling from Kocaeli you can better go to BursaZoo much cheaper and much better with the animals.
