Water is indeed azure and the scene is splendid. Three layers of falls, each about 5-10m high and 50-80m wide. This spot is well worth the visit. The river's azure is ethereal and mixed with the white foam as the water cascades over the rocks presents a unique spectacle of color. There are also areas below the falls marked for swimming.... It was a good experience. Unfortunately, I was there when it was raining. That made the water look brown instead of blue ....

Plenty of flow when we visited. I believe the blue colour is due to a mineral suspension - rather than something added. Dozens of stalls selling the usual mass produced tat souvenirs. Kids selling bananas - bunch of 12-15 small ones for 10 pesos. Try them just to understand what a banana should taste like.

The road to access to this place was quite bad in febuary 2017 because of road renovation. But the place worth it, stunning water colors and nice waterfalls

Make it best as one day trip for enough time Also best to find locals to show you the best spots for swimming. The more you go upwards the river the less touristik it is.

What amazing colour! Only paid for entry. $40mx peso pp There are lots of shops. The toilets are aweful! And you have to pay! The road is 9 mins off the main road and very curvy and bumpy!

The Agua Azul waterfalls are true to their name- the water is as blue as it gets. There are three sets of cascades nestled in a shaded hillock. The walk is fun and so is the handicrafts shopping along the way. You can swim in one of the three pools and there are lifeguards around in case anyone is in... More

I could not believe how clear the water actually was! The scenery was breathtaking! Although you are allowed to swim in a very small portion of the waterfall towards the bottom I did not mind. Not matter which angle you are at or how high you climb the view is amazing! Be ready for a lot of climbing if you... More

After 64 Km in over 2 hours(!) we reached the falls. Beautifrul setting in the jungle. It has been formed by sedimentation of millions of years.
