Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You can have a beautiful view of mountains and the falls but the most unexpected thing was the encounter with monkeys and their two babies

It's quite a long walk to the lookout down and up stairs so be aware. The pathway os also uneven.
The gorge opens up spectacularly with a stunning sea view. But no waterfall.

There’s a fairly standard viewpoint with a wooden tower at the entrance which has some nice panoramic views of the peninsula. However, there is a moderately difficult path that leads to the top of the waterfall with some outstanding views without a wall blocking them for people who want to find it. The path is fairly well beaten and marked but there is a few steep slopes to climb down and a few streams to cross. Me and the Mrs did it in flip flops so it is doable but appropriate footwear would make it a lot easier, as would water! It’s about a 30 minute walk down to the view so quite tiring in hot weather - but the view is worth it!

No interest in the point of view. We see very little. On the other hand, nice walk, a little hard at the end to go to the 500-foot waterfall. Whose path begins here. A great view once at the top of it. 2 hours round trip with swimming

After the Seven cascades this is a bit of a anti climax however if you take in the whole picture from the viewpoint then it's is something to see especially as you walk through all the papayas trees to get to the viewpoint . People always ask if you have seen this attraction and they have recreated this waterfall at the main international airport, on arrivals .
There is also a picnic area which is sometimes frequented by monkeys who will patiently wait to mug your food if you give them the opportunity

We found Alexandra falls on the way to Black River Gorges National Park. We stopped there for about 15 minutes to take some gorgeous pictures and walk around. Really scenic!

We only drove through and stopped at a few places since it was very hot and humid. Alexandra falls were pretty, with a lovely view over towards the south of the island, while the actual main view point is certainly spectacular, though not well maintained and due to careless tourists, rather dirty. The bits and pieces on offer typically come from India and Africa, on the other hand, the sellers are not a nuisance.
Best thing was the road down towards Morne. DO NOT ATTEMPT IF DRINKING ALCOHOL.

A short walk through the forest with trees covered by paper like bark leads you to an observation point over looking from the one side the forest and the falls, and to the other direction all the way till the ocean . Beautiful views

Visiting Alexandra Falls offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling tourist areas. The serene atmosphere and the sound of rushing water create a sense of tranquility and relaxation. It's a great place to escape the crowds and find solace in nature's embrace. The shaded areas around the falls provide a respite from the sun, allowing visitors to sit and admire the beauty of the surroundings.

If one is a nature lover, then a visit to this splendid place is a must. The walk n the waterfall set in nature offers a serene atmosphere. Don't be surprised by the monkeys found around...they seem to enjoy the company of visitors😂
