Served by a pleasant young chap called Luke. Poured the best pint of Guinness I've had this side of Galway. Great jukebox filled with power ballads that kept my date happy <3

Was invited to a pub quiz here recently. Must admit that I had no idea that this pub had an open fire and some lovely leather sofas as well. Something which would make me want to visit here again. The 2 people serving at the...More

I went to the Whitecliff for a charity fundraiser pub quiz. Great place, plenty of room for everyone. We took a table by the fire. The evening was highly enjoyable. The staff got into the spirit of things when there was a question about pogonophobia,...More

Well recommended. I moved to Whitehead 8 months ago and have been to both the Marine and the Whitecliff on several occasions. They are both very good bars and, thankfully, unlike my home bar in an equally small parochial town, they lack the air of...More

Is what it is. Local pub in small town. Nothing spectacular. More cons than pros regarding what I look for in a pub.

I called in to the Marine Bar, on a photo safari. This place dates back to 1890, so I was curious to see inside a genuinely Victorian building. Back then it was the Marine Hotel, built by William Larmour, who put "founder of Whitehead" on...More

I sat at the bar for an evening, discussing stuff with someone. I had a couple of half pints of Strongbow cider, then some soda water and lime, and crisps. Swift service, Clare (Claire?) the manager was there. Spacious place. I liked my stool. They...More
