About
Gentilini is a small, boutique, family run winery that produces top quality, exciting and unique wines while promoting the unique flavours and aromas of the local Kefalonian varieties. We are open every year from Easter to October for tours and tastings in the relaxed, natural setting of our garden. Our aim is to focus on your enjoyment, and we want you to leave us feeling that you have experienced something very special. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff, who speak excellent English, will welcome and guide you through the wines, answering any questions you may have. Tours in French are also available at certain times. All our tastings include a complimentary plate with our own organic extra virgin olive oil, local cheese, grape tomatoes and fresh bread. We also offer light snacks for those who wish to linger further over a glass of wine, and bottles may be purchased in our shop.

    Lovely and chilled out!
My partner and I visited Gentilini. We are not knowledgeable about wine but we really enjoyed the environment and experience. The staff were professional, efficient, friendly, and polite. We loved the bread and cheese platter with their own olive oil. It is so close and convenient to the airport that we booked it online and stopped there prior to our flight home. We were really pleased we did. It meant we didn't worry about rushing for our flight/getting to the airport on time etc. It was very relaxing and chilled out. We would recommend this.

    Great Experience
What an amazing way to spend a couple of hours. We enjoyed every one of the wines sampled. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The plate of fresh bread, tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and local cheese really complimented the wines. All in a beautiful setting, what's not to like?

Fantastic way to spend a few hours in the sunshine
Gentilini wine tasting is a great way to spend some time. The staff are friendly and attentive with great knowledge. The wines are wonderful and there is one to suite everyone’s taste. We had a great time and have booked for the rest of our family to try. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Yamas

    Way better than Paris
We chose 5 wines for tasting. Wines are nice ( got me tipsy in about 20 mins :) ) whites are not really for my liking but the red are good (rose was sold out about a month ago). It’s really one of the must, but get an assignment driver or taxi because it’s worth it. :)

    Wine Picnic With A View
We had the honor of being the first ever to book for a picnic lunch! It was absolutely amazing. Walked up to a beautiful picnic area with the perfect view and a bottle of perfectly paired wine. The food we had was very good as well as the women working while we were there. They were some of the nicest, most helpful and very knowledgeable of wines. Could not suggest this more!

    Perfect afternoon
Just spent a perfect afternoon away from the blistering heat, under the trees enjoying a Gentilli experience. Amazing food, amazing wine, amazing experience!!! Sincere apologies to our lovely young guide to the wine tasting! I specifically asked your name for a 5 star mention and the heat and the wine made me forget 😂😂😂. Hopefully the photo will ensure you are given due credit by your employer 🥰🥰

Afternoon chillin with wine.. what’s not to like!
Went to this Gentilini just near Lassi for an impromptu late afternoon wine tasting. Had a great tour by our guide who gave us info on 5 wines all were delicious. We also opted to have the tour of the place which was another five euros. Well worth it and Added more insight into the quality and care of the Gentilini team. Included in the wine package was a selection of breads cheeses and nibbles. The setting is fantastic and very authentic, sitting in the shade under olive and almond trees. A great alternative to sitting round our hotel pool for an afternoon . Would recommend taking a taxi so you can order an extra bottle and more nibbles as we did.

    Wine Experience
Pre-booked tour and wine tasting experience. Friendly, experienced guide who explained each wine and the process of manufacturing each wine. Was able to experience this at a relaxed pace, nothing rushed and ideal for a summer afternoon. Wonderful stuff.

Gentilini Winery is highly recommend for a short visit. Try 5 or 7 local wines, mostly their own product, because 3 is way too less. The tastings are small, I still was able to find our car and even drive it… Local snacks (bread, cheese, tomatoes) are complementary, but if that’s not sufficient, you can order some other tasteful snacks. The tour is a no-brainer. For just €5 you get a tour on the winery with a guide who can tell you a lot about wine making. It looks small, but they bottle 90,000 bottle a year! Your favorite wine is for sale in their little shop. Don’t forget to make a reservation on their website to be sure of a seat.

We visited Gentilini Winery and paid for the 10euro wine tasting. This consisted of 7 different wines from the winery. The wine was accompanied by cheese, tomatoes, bread and olive oil made on site. Sophia was an amazing, enthusiastic host and made us feel so welcome and special, getting the balance just right between explaining the wines and leaving us to enjoy the ambiance and experience. We loved the Eclipse Red and bought a number of bottles to bring back to the UK. Unfortunately we drank them whilst on holiday so had to go back and enjoy the experience all over again!! If you love wine this is the place to visit whilst on Kefalonia and we will definitely be back next year.

We visited this lovely vineyard and were greeted by a very bubbly friendly lady who quickly explained our choices . We were presented by a lovely board of Greek , feta, bread etc included in the 10 euro each . There was a shift change and we were then looked after by Corrina who was also very lovely explaining each wine so well . Corrina was so friendly she sat and talked us making us feel at home . Then we met the owner who came back specially with a special brewed local speciality . Very good experience definitely visit this lovely place

I tasted 5 different types of wine with Mavrodaphni being my favourite one. That being said i was disappointed by the Robola, which as a local myself had higher expectations from. The tour itself did not last more than 5 minutes which is why they shouldn't be charging for it. BUT i must say that Korina, our host was exceptional! She made us feel like we were visiting a good friend for wine and cheese. Her hospitality and interpersonal skills really made a big difference (in the rating as well!). It's very rare to see someone who enjoys what they do and give 100% of themselves particularly in the hospitality industry (she even stayed longer than her shift). Thank you Korina!!!

Thank you for your feedback Maria. We will make sure that the tour in the future is more detailed. We strive to hit a balance between too long, which may tire soem, and too brief. We certainly want everyone to feel as though they are getting their money’s worth!

My husband and I visited for our 2nd wedding anniversary and chose the 7 wine tasting. The location is absolutely beautiful and our wine expert, Sophia, was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about all of the wines. The wines are all delicious and you are treated to a lovely platter of bread, cheese, tomatoes and olive oil as well. We enjoyed it so much we decided to order a bottle of the wine and stay to drink it. Would absolutely recommend. Thank you!

We booked a tasting in the afternoon and decided to go for the tour as wel. the tour gave us a nice little insight of the winery and a beautiful high viewpoint over the airport and coastline. we would recommend to take an hour and visit this winery as you will get some really special white, rose (with jasmin) and red (syrah) wines. the guide was really excited about a new grape they make that we got as complimentary tasting. all in all, very nice to enjoy on a hot day with good info on how to enjoy your wines even better ;)

We had a fantastic afternoon here on the 5/9/23. We were only staying in Kefalonia for a week and we were trying to squeeze everything thing in, but coming to this vineyard was high on the list and it was something we really wanted to do. We made the decision after walking for our breakfast to continue on to Gentilini. When we got there we were greeted by the owner Marianna who was lovely and very kind to accommodate us (we hadn’t made a reservation but I WOULD SAY IT IS A MUST THAT YOU DO, we were lucky). So many people after we arrived were being turned away very politely because they didn’t have space. The person who looked after us was Sophia, she was extremely knowledgable and showed great customer service skills but it was clear that all the staff are very hardworking and good at what they do. We went for the 5 wine tasting which was 15€ pp which is incredibly great value for money, considering some of the beautiful wines that you taste are made in small quantities and we also received a small selection of cheese, bread and oils which complemented the wines beautifully.
The area were you sit and taste is beautifully presented and again reflects the fantastic experience of tasting these delicious wines.

We walked from the other side of the bridge in Argostoli to Gentilini and it was about 7km each way. Me and my wife like walking but the road that leads to vineyard isn’t the safest, so I make arrangement to get dropped off or make your way with a taxi.

Great day would do it all over again!

Beautiful scenery, great selection of wines and nibbles too. Perfect for a first experience at wine tasting. The personal touch and attention to detail makes this vineyard a hidden gem and somewhere I would highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you!

Decided to visit as a change from the beach. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and really made the trip. The prices are reasonable and are based on how many wines you wish to taste - 5,7 or 10. We booked in advance to taste 5. As soon as we arrived we were given the first wine to taste, which we thought odd as on a previous vineyard tour, the wine was tasted at the end. However, after the first sample, we were asked if we would like to join another party for the tour of the vineyard and taste the rest afterwards, to which we readily agreed. The tour was ok but quite short - just a small vineyard we stood at the edge of, and a couple of pieces of equipment inside which were explained to us. We returned for the rest of our tasting session and had ordered a platter of meats, cheese, bread, tomatoes, olives, etc, which was waiting for us and was a perfect accompaniment to the rest of our wines. The only thing we would have liked would have been more information on the wines as we were tasting and some tuition on how to do the tasting, as we are not connoisseurs! We were probably there just less than an hour, so don't go expecting a whole afternoon out or anything. Having said that we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the setting is lovely and shady on a hot day! If I lived there, it would definitely be somewhere I would visit for a glass or two of wine and a sharing platter.

Thank you so much for your review and your feedback. We try to make a visit to Gentilini relaxing and enjoyable so we usually do not go into depth with explanations. However, we are more than happy to delve deeper with anyone who is interested, and you are welcome to stay for as long as you like, sipping wine and sharing some nibbles!

Arrived without making a booking and we were told we could not have the tour which was fine. We had the tasting of 3 wines €10, you can choose from 3,5 or 7 I think it was. The lady brought us out the first wine and also brought a platter of cheese, bread with olive oil and balsamic which was a nice touch. She also put a bottle of water on the table which you are charged for, didn’t mind as we had the platter free of charge. As we were ready to leave she said we could now go on the tour but as I say we were ready to go so declined. It’s in a lovely setting and well worth a visit, we arrived around 11.30am so it was quiet, May be busier later in day, there was free parking also. You can buy all the products from the little shop they have there including olive oil and balsamic. Worth a visit.
