Arrived early in the morning, the staff seem totally uninterested and explain what they offer and we paid 4 euro per person for their museum which was extremely small (2 small exhibitions). I understand this has a historical significance for the region but not worth to visit ( unless you will do the wine tasting)

Great tasting wines and well-informed & polite staff. The sweet red wine was divine! We also liked the “Thrapsathiri” white wine (which is of cretan origins) very much. The interior design of the tasting room was cosy and meticulous. We will certainly visit again!

Visited the area of Sitia and Toplou. Interesting to look around and had a great time wine tasting - with cheese and bread included. Well worth a visit to this beautiful area.

with the gross inaccuracy that Toplu may be derived from the greek 'το πλούσιο', denoting that it is a wealthy monastery offered by the ad hoc in situ humble traveller in residence the architectural construct, the location and the extraordinary non orthodox son with the western synthesis cum technique make this a locus marbles. Situated on the easternmost border of Crete which is the most desolate and arresting.
