Great day out for the family
Had a great time feeding the alpacas, you get the chance to get really close to them. Knowledgable tour guide, telling us the alpacas names and all about them. Would definitely recommend. Great food and drinks available too!

    Perfect day
My happy place!. Yesterday we got to experience a meet and greet and feed the alpacas. So exciting and the guide answered question after question, it was obvious she loved working with them. Farmer Martin was with us also and we got to see one of the eldest alpacas who was one of the original 4 he purchased many years ago. Such a wonderful couple of hours and the coffee and cake was amazing. Have to also say the staff in the coffee shop are all so friendly.

    Fabulous Experience
Fabulous experience, we took my parents for the first time for a meet and greet experience. The staff were friendly and had lots of knowledge about the alpacas. It was followed up by a lovely coffee and cake. My dad is celiac but had a lovely gluten free cake. I’m so pleased to make lovely memories with my parents , something that we haven’t been able to do for the last few years.

    Brilliant.
My grandson and I visited for the first time yesterday. We really enjoyed it. The hygiene both for the animals, and visitors,is well managed. We booked on the meet and greet,it was great. The supervisor who was with the group, was so welcoming and explained all about the Centre. The coffee shop, was cosy, with a nice view. We will definitely visit again. Thank you so much.

    Alpacing marvellous
Took mum alpaca trekking for her birthday. She’s had a total knee replacement and found the pace excellent. Would recommend for all ages (maybe not little ones), they do have other activities which would suit small children better. Our guide was extremely informative (we were asking lots of questions) lovely lady. The alpacas were friendly, a little frisky on the trek, but what do you expect, all animals are unpredictable. Learnt so much about alpacas and love them even more now! The coffee shop food was lovely, a good selection and the cakes looked amazing! Also, the hot drinks have alpacas on them! Wonderful day, we went to see the baby lambs in the barns too! 100% recommend for a family day out, at any age.

Fab Meet and Greet with Alpaca’s
We did the Meet and Greet experience on Mothers Day, myself, my son and two grandchildren. You get to be up close to the alpacas and feed them, the experience lasts about 20 minutes. We all loved it. We had a yummy lunch in the cafe afterwards where you can see the alpacas in the fields. We also paid to have a walk round the paddocks seeing all the different alpacas. It can get quite muddy so best wearing suitable footwear!

    Alpaca Trek
What a fabulous day! Well organised an opportunity to bond and feed your alpaca and laugh at their names; guides very knowledgeable. Lovely cafe with good and well priced food. If you are holiday go, if you are local go.

    Good Times.
We had a great time. The meet and greet by the staff and the guided walk around the fields was really enjoyable despite the less than perfect weather. Of course the furry stars of the show were Fabian, Bellamy and Teal who were all on the best behaviour and obviously enjoying the whole thing. I have the say the cafe was also very good with an excellent flat white coffee being the star and much better than you will find in most coffee shops. Thanks to all the managers and staff who were knowledgeable, friendly and supportive at all times.

    Beautiful birthday gift
What a fantastic venue! We came here for my grandma's 96th birthday to be something special and a bit different. The whole day was amazing. We met and fed the alpacas and then had great food in the cafe. Highly recommend

Great place to visit! Took a trip out to see the Alpacas in this easy to find rural gem situated minutes away from the market town of Newark and just off the A1. Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and truly amazing bakes! 😋

What a fabulous experience this was! My son and I did the trekking experience and it was so much fun! Getting up close and personal with the beautiful alpacas was such a great feeling. Our tour guide was brilliant and very knowledgeable, able to answer every question she was asked. We popped into the cafe afterwards for a bite to eat and a hot drink and it did not disappoint. The ladies in the cafe were so lovely. I would definitely recommend coming here, wether it’s to do the feeding, trekking or having a walk around and a drink afterwards.

We took our Grandaughter for an Alpaca trekking experience. She is 8 yrs old, and absolutely loved it, even though the weather was not so good. She had the black one called Teal.
It was a really nice visit with plenty of information given.
The Alpacas are beautifully turned out and really well looked after. She also loved the cat who came for a long stroke.
After the trek we went into the cafe for some sandwiches and cake.Super.
All said it was a really, really good experience. Well done everyone.

Went with grandson first time and then with teenage granddaughters.
Went to feed the alpacas. Enjoyed seeing the animals and learning a bit more about them. Afterwards went into the cafe to feed the family. Great variety of foods to choose from. Good service and good value. Enjoyed by all.

We went for the alpaca walking experience which was amazing value for money at £25 each. We were all perfectly matched with the alpacas and taken on a hour long walk by the lovely Jess and Jack. Throughout the walk we were given lots of information about alpacas and about the farm and had the opportunity to feed the alpacas. All of them were so sweet with their own personalities which we got to learn about, and if we were struggling with our alpaca pulling or being too interested in food (or the ladies!), we got help straight away from one of the volunteers on how to keep our alpaca moving (eg moving to the front of the herd). They took plenty of pictures of everyone which are posted on their Facebook a week later. We also got free entry to look around the alpacas afterwards and see the new llamas too. The cafe was really great too with amazing cake - we even got to watch the babies and mums being fed out the window. I’ll definitely be returning at some point and have been telling everyone I know how much I enjoyed the day.

My husband, son and I took my mum to feed the Alpacas as her birthday treat and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The girl who worked there was brilliant at explaining all about the Alpacas and answering questions. The Alpacas are beautiful and it was so enjoyable to spend time with them. We stopped in the coffee/gift shop afterwards where they sell the most tempting and delicious cakes and there are some lovely items for sale in the gift shop. I would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone, it was such a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Had a lovely afternoon tea for 3 adults and 1 child on Sunday. Followed by a private meet and greet experience where we got to feed a group of lovely alpacas and give them a little fuss. Jessica who led the session was very knowledgeable and friendly as were the ladies in the cafe. Was lovely to watch the babies through the window while we ate, far too much food, we had to take some home! There was even a Happy Birthday banner on our table for our birthday girl, which was thoughtful. Little gift shop was a nice touch too! Thank you!

I received a £20 voucher for my birthday for this wonderful place that we've been meaning to visit for so long! Was pleased to find that we (2 adults and 1 child) could do both the woodland walk and the meet and greet experience for £22 so great value! The meet and greet was by far the best bit, 20 minutes felt like just the right amount of time to get up close to the alpacas who clearly have such great characters. Shout out to Jess who lead our experience who was very friendly and knowledgeable (give that lady a brownie)! Speaking of brownies, whilst we didn't stay for refreshments there was a huge selection of treats on offer and I spied some nice looking vegan cakes which I will definitely try when we come back, no doubt it will be soon! Thanks again!

This was our first visit to J and J Alpacas, it was easy to find and there was ample parking. We arrived slightly early for our meet and greet so sat in the cafe. The cafe was nice and clean, great views out onto the paddock and some very nice looking cakes available. The lady who took us on the meet and greet was lovely, knowledgeable and friendly and told us lots of cute and interesting facts about the alpacas. We’d definitely come back for the walking experiences.

We booked for four of us to feed the Alpacas and wander around the paddocks etc, we were greeted by Olivia, who obviously loves her job and was more than happy to answer all of our questions, she is a real credit to the owners.

Don't be too worried about the spitting as they only tend to spit at each other and you may get caught in the crossfire and it is not that bad. we finished the visit off in the onsite Cafe, great snacks and cake and a selection of hot and cold drinks at very reasonable prices.

We will be back.
