Theatre offers delivery of drinks to seats which is ideal. Theatre is small (800), so no matter where you sit, it's a good view

My wife and I are regular visitors to this small, but very good venue.
The staff are always friendly, the acoustics are very good and its small capacity means you are never far away from the stage.
The only thing that stops me giving four stars is their outdated attitude to people taking photographs of the acts.
I can fully appreciate that bands may not want their performance to be recorded and that recordings will breach copyright, but in 2022, they DO want their fans to share their experience on Social Media, and this is enhanced if photographs can be added to any review.
Just about every other venue we visit, doesn't mind the odd photograph being taken of the performance, but at Newark Palace there are antiquated signs showing pictures of ancient mobile phones warning against this, and as soon as staff see anyone taking photographs, they pounce!
Only a small thing, I know, but - if the act don't mind, what is the harm?

A small but delightful theatre which has been refurbished to the original style of about 1919 when it was first built
The staff were friendly and helpful and the show we saw was absolutely brilliant
They have many more shows to see and although we live in Nottingham I am sure we will be coming back

The palace theatre itself is ok but the ushers are ridiculous!
They storm around like they're armed guards! On Friday they were up and down constantly shining their torches in people's faces if they dared take a picture.
They were more disruptive than the audience. Give them a torch and they think they're untouchable!
Seriously, lighten up it's the Palace atheayre not the actual Palace!

Visited the Palace Theatre to see The Animal Guyz.
Helpful and knowledgeable ushers (who weren’t afraid to challenge those using phones/filming the show). Theatre was clean and smart.

Went to the Newark Palace theatre to see a music concert. We were blown away by their friendliness of every ( and i mean every) member of the staff. We were warmly welcomed on the steps upon arrival, briefed on do’s and donts due to the pandemic and then shown to the bar/cafe. A few drinks pre concert, relaxing seating outside available. Such a beautiful venue. A great night all round. Thank you

Food was actually very nice. Arrived just after 2pm as a group of 4 adults and 3 10-13 year-old. The cafe was very quiet, one other table occupied when we arrived. The server was too busy making a sandwich to take our order immediately which was not a problem. What did not help the situation was the constant moaning at actually having to take and prepare our order (we could hear this from our table) Bearing in mind the legal requirement to provide allergy information this seemed to be too much effort. The server told us although the ingredients did not list the allergens she could not guarantee the food to not contain them. As I said the food was actually nice and the server who bought our food polite and friendly. Perhaps some training needed for her colleague!

Year after year, grand parents, mum & dad and a granddaughter would never miss the Newark 'Panto'.
Superb professional front line actors, and the choreography of the young supporting members of the troupe are excellent. Congratulations to all and especially for those unseen behind the wings.
The set this year was of a truly magnificent standard and must have been 'borrowed' from a much larger production. We are all really fortunate that shows of this standard can be produced for our home town.
Yes, we have already booked for this year !!

Lovely theatre with a great atmosphere. So lucky to have got tickets for this sell out night to see the Nutcracker performed by the Russian National Ballet. Really enjoyed it.

Just looking to book tickets for this yrs panto. Can pretty much have any seats....are the sears tired in height? Would the front 2/3 rows be too close or too far down fron the stage for a 5yr old? Would she be looking up all the time?
Thanks

Hi Emma, all seats are tiered, yes. It's a lot down to personal preference however I would recommend between row D and G for a clear view for younger visitors. If you need more guidance, please call the Box Office on 01636 655 755 and they will be happy to assist.
We are coming to the 1730 pantomine on Christmas Eve I'm just wondering what time it will.finish to book taxi home please thanks in advance

The show is around 2hrs 25 mins long including the interval.
I am looking to book the pantomine but have two two year old do I have to pay for them ?

Hello Sarah, yes, two year olds need to pay. For clarity - all audience members require a valid ticket; babes in arms under one year old get theirs free. Hope that helps!
