Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After driving up a few miles of seemingly narrower and narrower roads, you arrive at the parking lot for the castle. There are a few restaurants and a church up here, all in pretty set of fields. A 10 minute walk up a rocky path gets you to the castle which is a nice set of ruins with some old exterior walls and then central keep in decent shape. There's a beer garden in the courtyard of the keep and some sturdy wooden stairs to reach the top of the keep walls where you can see all the way down to the Alps on a clear day. We got there near closing so didn't pay but I guess there's a small fee. It's not Burghausen or Salzburg but a nice low key place to visit on your way to or from somewhere like Český Krumlov.

It was a nice place to visit with an amazing view at the top of it. But i think they have to take a little more care of it

Vítkův hrádek is a 13. century castle ruin with the highest elevation in Bohemia. From its tower you can admire an amazing 360 degree view onto the lake Lipno, the Sumava region and during clear weather even the Alps in Austria. Of interest is that king Václav IV was jailed here briefly in 1394 during his enforced journey to Austria. Vítkův hrádek is accessible by car by driving to the village of Svaty Tomáš and parking in one of the designated parking areas, then walking along an uneven blueberry lined path uphill about 300 m to the ruin. Entrance fee is 60 Kc, and there is also a refreshment stand. A well constructed and maintained staircase leads to a platform at the top of the tower, where large info display boards identify points of interest in all four directions. The clear view is truly amazing, one of the best in Bohemia, so take your time. We browsed all around the castle ruin grounds and then returned to Svaty Tomáš to admire the local 14. century church, then walked a little more downhill to have a delicious lunch at a newly opened restaurant Hajovna, with pleasant seating outdoors.

We drove via some tiny roads to get here so it was a bit disappointing to find it closed. You can see the outside but that's nothing special in my opinion. There were some older kids drinking on the stairs.
