We went along for brunch recently after pre-booking. Good social distancing measures in place and the food was lovely & nice and hot. The staff were really nice too.

Such a disappointment went with a fried for lunch for the first time after lock down. Food was awful from the warm not brewed pot of tea to the stale bread and prawns not deveined. The only thing that was nice were the chips. Will not be visiting again!

Went with friends for Sunday lunch, the menu is pretty bland, not a great choice. I asked if I could have mushy peas instead of garden peas and I was told yes, but it costs more, mushy peas was not on the menu as an extra side. Food not of a great standard, not very hot, the pudding was only half warmed through and the thick custard was tepid. Even the presentation of the was poor. The vegetables, especially the carrots with the roast dinners looked horrible and as the hunters chicken, the whole plate of food didn't even look appetising, it looked as though it had been plated up and put back in the oven, it looked dried out. Service was awful, the woman who served us had a brusk manner, not at all friendly or welcoming. I did pass comment about the board showing "fixed price Sunday lunches" and the ? Manager blamed the sign writer for not putting the correct wording on the board. We all agreed, this will not be visiting again this pub again. There are much better places around to have a Sunday lunch than going to the three stags

Had a lovely meal here ( toad in the hole & hunters chicken). Both were nice and good value for money. My partner ordered a drink recommended by the lady at the bar. He took the risk, but decided he didn’t like it! He went back to change it and happily pay for another one. She swapped it for free and was super understanding and attentive. Only downfall was the staff all seemed very unhappy. We even heard a waitress gossiping with customers a few tables away from us which was off putting. Lots of food out of stock from the menu leading to a poor atmosphere around us. We couldn’t complain for the price.

Be careful if you visit this pub. Behind the cosy appearance of a clean bar and log fire lies a very unpleasant group of people. Not only are they rude but actually made a false accusation that our party chanted “we shall not be moved” This did not happen. We were a small group of professional people who know how to conduct ourselves. I do not accept this and will certainly never visit this establishment again.
