Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This temple is not very welcoming towards tourists. The guards were very strict, unfriendly and won't let us come close to look inside. Very colourful und all in all a memorable sight, but you will be feeling uneasy and unwelcome unless you are Indian or Singhalese.

This temple is located just 8 Kms before Chilaw on the Colombo-Chilaw road on the right. You will not miss it. The statute of Lord Murugan, Hanuman and Shivan on the roadside will attract your attention when you are travelling in this road. Though the entrance is on the main road the entrance to the temple once you enter the compound is on the other side. There is a shop that sells pooja items just as you enter the compound.
The presiding deity is Lord Murugan. There are various statues of gods inside the temple too. there are idols of Lord Murugan, Lord Ganesa and Navagraha inside the temple.
There is wash room facility in the compound and a vegetarian restaurant just outside the compound. tasted Dosai there. It was ok. Not as salty as most of these other colombo hotels offer. Even the side dishes - chutney and sambar tasted ok here. Price is very reasonable.

Circus pretending to be a Murugan temple run by the most rude and racist people I ever met in Sri Lanka. The gods are not present in this horrible place. Don't waste your time going here.

Very impressive and colourful statues at the front, but they won't let you go inside or take pictures at the back.

An ideal location to take a glimpse of the art and culture of the modern Hinduism. This Kovil (temple) is situated on the main road of the Chillaw - Colombo road.

The Kovil is a private owned establishment. Yet open for Public. The Kovil represents almost all the Hindu Gods. Where as the opening facade is a combination of giant Hindu God statues rising more than 20 feet.

No photos can be taken inside the temple, yet you can take photos from outside. There is no entrance ticket to the shrine. You are required to walk bare feet inside the Kovil yet you can walk in your shoes across the Kovil Garden. Make sure you were ideal/ decent attire for a temple.
