Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This monument consists of a series of bollards with plaques and photos on them of recipients of the various Australian of the Year Awards, which were first awarded in January 1961. The bollards are placed chronologically at regular intervals along the path surrounding Lake Burley Griffin.
Incorporated into the path behind the bollards are five metal strips representing five music stave lines. I read where the plinths have been placed in musical note position to the score of Advance Australia Fair. Wouldn't have figured that one out.
The first plinth recognised the Australian of the year in 1960, Sir Macfarlane Burnet.
Good to see that these people who have been recognised for their significant outstanding contribution to the Australian community have a permanent memorial.

I chanced upon this interesting walk along the side of the lake while doing a circular walk around part of the lake. It is interesting to see how the demographics of the winners have changed. Nice to see more people of colour and First Nations people in more recent years.

This walk has improved! My highlight and the main feature of improvement was the newly awarded Australian of the Year 1993 - Cheekybeak (the Cockatoo). Last time I did this walk, this plaque was empty as there was no Australian of the Year 1993. I was very happy to see the people of Canberra have posthumously awarded Cheekybeak!
