The tour brings alive not only the building but also what took place in it. You can still wander around at your leisure before or after.

The museum is located in the beautiful Old Parliament House, with lots to keep you occupied for a couple of hours. Volunteer guides are very knowledgeable and have lots of random trivia to impart! I loved seeing the Prime Ministers offices, looking just like they...More

the place is left as it was when the politicians moved out to go to the new parliament house next door in the early 1990s and you are free to wonder from room to room. interesting side exhibits and so much to see!

Hi, there's actually a kids area full of different activities for children - called PlayUP, which has changing craft activites with has facilitated hours with staff members and is really engaging.

I can't imagine this museum being too interesting for youngsters unless you turn it into a 'lesson' with your own stories or generating discussion on the topics covered, eg the Aboriginal tent embassy out front. For adults... More
