You could spend all day at this memorial. The view to the Parliament building itself is terrific, very much a photo opportunity. There is so much to see the Anzac room with the Lancaster Bomber which flew 90 missions in World War 2. The tour of the Aboriginal memorial was so interesting and I learned so much about the history... More

This is an amazing museum - huge, with history focused on the variety of global wars that Australia has been involved in but with a focus on participants of these wars and their experiences. This focus makes the exhibits even more poignant and brings history to life. The museum exhibits are on par with a US Smithsonian

I've been to Museums all over the world and would rate the Australian War Memorial as at least equal No: 1. Absolutely absorbing and fascinating and with wonderfully subscribed displays. Could spend another week there.

Australia has done itself proud with this memorial. The displays are clear without too jus details. There is a reverence for all who have served in the Australian Forces over the many years of conflict. A must see with any visit to Canberra.
