Dont think this is just a memorial. It is one of the best museums in Australia full stop. Complete with full sized recovered submarines, planes and tanks. Relics and information from most well know wars this century.

I visited the war memorial and took a guided tour that was most informative then looked around at leisure at other areas. So much to see so returned for a second day and witnessed changing of the guard and the Last Post ceremonies. Very moving....More

What an excellent and appropriate memorial to the fallen and a reminder of the horrors of war and all the wasted lives . I found it almost overwhelming and I am not Australian. Worth coming to Canberra just for this and the adjoining museum .

We did the World War 1 & 2 Tour, it only took 1.5 hours, it was a highly inspiring, educational and memorable experience. The AWM is an incredible place and very interactive, the evolution of our Defence Forces is also fascinating. Lest We Forget!

Look, I think we cannot give any comments that will justify this amazing place. So much hardwork and effort have been put into this place to make it so informative, interactive and dignified. Very professionally done that will appeal to both young and seniors alike....More

Having been to the AWM over many years it was interesting to see the recent changes made. The central rememberance pond, walls of names with poppies and haunting mosaic dome with the unknown soldier is always special. Its atmosphere is hard to describe. There are...More
