We had a day driving through the Southern Highlands of Australia. It was so beautiful. The landscape & scenery are big and sweeping. Get a car and drive and explore. Get as high as you can and be prepared to pull over and take it all in. If you can do a picnic somewhere that would be great. It's pretty... More

Went to the southern highlands with 3 girlfriends, and stayed in the tiny little town of Wingello. We went wine tasting and explored other towns in the area. A beautiful part of NSW, and a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney.

Wow plenty of places to explore for all the family, gardens with a WOW even the teen's loved this, Bradman's the pools, quaint little shopping through out the whole Highlands. A great place to eat and explore local produce, cooking and tasting. Always something on during the week or weekend. Close by train service to get you around if no... More

I had read quite a few tourist sites that said how lovely and quaint the little towns through the southern highlands were but unfortunately I was a little disappointed as I drove from Sydney to Canberra. We stopped at Mittagong, Berrima, Bowral and Goulburn. Berrima did have some lovely old buildings and a few shops but not a lot. Bowral... More

This special Christmas market is held around the 13th December each year at Sutton Forest in The Southern Highlands Winery. It is one of the best Christmas markets I have been too with every stall selling quality merchandise. It's worth the drive to have a special day out. It's held on the Saturday & Sunday of that weekend. There is... More

We got a very informative map guide from the Visitor Centre at Mittagong & followed the tourist drives from Mittagong to Robertson along Kangaloon Rd & from there to Fitzroy Falls. We also travelled from Bowral to Moss Vale along Moss Vale Rd. I must admit that the tourist drives were all breathtaking, lines after lines of tree walls &... More

We decided to spend a few days in the southern highlands over the Easter break as we hadn't been down there for a few years. We stayed at Sutton Forest, in a lovely historic place called Hilllview Heritage Hotel. While we loved the accommodation, the area was a let down in several ways. Firstly, there was next to nothing restaurant... More

We stopped along the route from Sydney to Canberra and thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting. The proprietors were friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were really good. A great little stop that is just 5 minutes off the highway.

Visited Corbett Gardens in Bowral to see the tulips. 2013 is the 150th year since Bowral (and Moss Vale) were officially established. During the past week or so, the huge winds knocked the tulips about a bit, but the displays of tulips along the watercourse were close to perfect. There were many market stalls selling all sorts of goodies, many... More

We traveled from Sydney out to the Southern Highlands. Our destination was the Joadja Creek Heritage site but there is so much to see on the way there. We stopped at McVitty winery on the way out there for lunch and it was fabulous with an amazing view. The entire countryside is stunning and so worth the trip out from... More
