We had a great private lesson at Dee Why with Ziggy. He was interesting and fun to hang out with, great conversation when we waited for waves and super helpful getting us going. I pretty much wanted to keep him as our personal surf guru for every time we go out now. Really great guy, really fun day.

Just moved to Australia last September and here in the northern beaches late October. I've been determined to get back to surfing after a long time but I have that fear inside me for quite a while because I had a near drowning incident before, due to a bad wipeout in Bali from another surf company. I signed up for... More

Our instructor Steve is a god in the water, should be called Poseidon, he has great understanding of how his water world works, and transmits this knowledge to you in an easy uncomplicated way. Steve takes away the fear you have when starting out, because of his phenomenal approach, making you leave every time with an awesome feeling that makes... More

Easily the best surf lessons I have ever had. Steve was very knowledgeable and could spot mistakes easily and knew exactly how to correct them. He was also so enthusiastic and stoked to get people surfing, which made the days a lot more fun. I only planned on having one lesson but ended up having four because it was that... More

We spontaniously decided to go surfing, so we hired a board and suits from This shop. Everything was nice and clean and we enjoyed our day a lot.

I've only started to learn to surf since moving to Aus in November and Steve has been such a great instructor! He's been brilliant at building up my confidence and is always very patient. It's been great to have lessons with someone who is an experienced surfer and also very knowledgeable of surf conditions. Would 100% recommend manly surf guide... More

Wish i had come across these guys when i first tried to get into surfing 10 years ago. I had tried brief lessons elsewhere, went out on my own for a year then gave it up. With manly surf guide I learnt more in one lesson than all my other surf experiences combined. I had no doubt that this was... More

In my first lesson with Steve he got me more waves than I've ever had in my life! In 10 lessons with him I reckon I've had about 2 years worth of surfing. My confidence grows in every session - I'm surfing waves I never thought would be possible - and because Steve and Ryan are such great guys, it's... More

We had a fantastic 2 day surf adventure in January 2016. Organizer Ryan and the very patient, motivating and extremely instructive Steve made our beginner surf experience an awesome one. We noticed the flyers of Manly Surf Guide in our backpacker. The mid-week classes suited our travel itinerary. Both of us were beginner. The first days of surfing is very... More

My wife and I had a private lesson with Steve at Dee Why. We've been surfing for a while now (badly) and were in desperate need of a refresher. He worked us hard which was great - we really got our money's worth and had great fun during our 1.5 hour private lesson. We've got lots to work on and... More

Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
