My favourite Sydney museum. Always has great exhibitions and the permanent collection is just fabulous. Smallish intimate museum with just the right amount to see. Brilliant!

This interesting small Museum may lack the pizazz of some of the larger, better known museums but is well worth a visit. It stands, just about, at the site of the original Government House for the new colony of NSW where Australia was first settled....More

Recommended to visit this museum as one of the top things to do. But quite disappointed with the museum. Not a great collection. Could’ve done more of aboriginal culture and history pre-colonisation

The Museum of Sydney is part of the Sydney Living Museums. Built on the site of Sydney's original Government House, some of the foundations can be viewed here. The museum offer's a comprehensive display of Sydney's history including indigenous people history.

Took the kids here to learn a little more about the history of Sydney. The museum is not huge so only takes a couple of hours to go through. There is a fair bit to read and lots of interesting artefacts and some interactive exhibits....More
