We came in the evening and found it relaxing and breezy. Took some nice pictures here in the warm evening glow.

We walked around Darling Harbour several times and enjoyed the food and attractions there. The waterfront restaurants were nice and provided lovely views. The naval ships and sub were interesting we generally had a nice time just walking around here.

With its ships and lovely, lively sidewalk activity, Darling Harbor is another clean, enticing site in Sydney!

Darling Harbour is a beautiful part of Sydney. And will be even more so when all the construction work is finished. At the moment it's a little noisy. Still a fantastic place to visit.

A beautiful spot to visit. Ferry transport from here is great. Shopping centre is average. Restaurants and bars a plenty.

Although in Sydney for only 4 days we were at Darling harbour 3 times. Choose a nearby hotel (we chose Pensione) and spend time either visiting Marine world or catching a harbour ferry to cruise the harbour or visit the Zoo. Restaraunts are abound, either side of the harbour with some up market dining or in the main, casual dining.... More

Darling Harbour has it all! It's close to the city and there are many fabulous restaurants to choose from. I love it in the early morning too for a run, and feel quite safe as there are many other people exercising and enjoying the space at that time. There isa huge IMAX theatre and all the ferries and boat tours... More

During our stay in Sydney we walked from our hotel to Darling Harbour. Lots of restaurants and interesting sights. Street life was quite entertaining with a troupe of street dancers delighting the tourists with their exceptional performances. A wonderful way to spend a few hours in Sydney.

We enjoy delicious food at the many restaurants and simply love the entire atmosphere. We have always felt safe and walk even later in the evening without worrying.

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighbourhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to Dj’s. Families can visit the Chinese Gardens of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Sydney Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
