Came here not expecting much (yeah, a beach in the big city), but i was actually nicely surprised by the view, the nice water and powdery sand, the coloured wall with all the murals and even the food there is good and reasonably priced. A nice place to spend some time.

A must to say you have been, but do go to the Bondi Icebergs Club for the view if nothing else. You have to join (small fee) but great views and good food and drink prices.

Absolutely iconic , a beautiful stretch of golden sands and blue sea, always patrolled by Lifesavers, if you love to surf, or bodysurf, this is the beach to be at, the main strip of Bondi is full of wonderful restaurants and shops , a must pit stop if you visit Sydney Australia

Visited on 7th Dec (Wed) at 12 noon. Easy to park the car w lots of metered parking spots, believed either at about $7.2/hr or $4.8/hr rate, depends on location. Cards can be used to pay the meter, but feels that bringing enough coins will be really helpful (and can help few ppl to hv the change) Beach was not... More

What a melting pot of people on a lazy sunny afternoon. Great for sunbathers, people wading in the waves breaking on the sandy shores, swimmers, and the surfers.

One of the best beaches I have seen yet... the water is cold and clean, the sand is perfect sandy and the crowd is just incredible... A very happening place... The best part was that unlike many other beaches (Patong -> Phuket etc), there are no water activities at the beach area... this beach is purely for your personal and... More

Bondi is a must see beach. The beach and bay is beautiful however the esplanade and foreshore is very tired and shabby. There is work happening to put in more table and chairs but there is a lack of seating and shade. For such an iconic beach and tourist destination it leaves a lot to be desired and doesn't compare... Bondi Beach is everything it was billed as. The water was warm. The people watching was excellent. There are a couple of great trail walks. It is a 20 minutes bus ride from downtown.

You couldn't go to Sydney without visiting its most famous beach and watching the surfers ride the waves. It is quite a rough sea but there is a dedicated safe area for swimming and lifeguards are patrolling and keeping watch throughout the day. Behind the beach are some lovely cafes, bars and shops or if you prefer a picnic a... More

Staying in Bondi Beach

Neighbourhood Profile
Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.
