Got to go

You must go to Bondi if you're in Sydney. Plenty of action in the water and on the beach - plenty of Lifeguards around aswell. Great sand.

Nice place to hang out with great view of the beach. Won't mind coming here for lunches, coffee or drinks. Feels good to look at the ocean with the nice waves. Made me feel like I am really on a holiday! Not sure how it looks at night though. Love to revisit again if I am back to Sydney again.

Had to go here as it so famous. Manly beach is far nicer. Everyone I know who has been here say they only did it to tick the box, I agree.

Yes it's touristy but it's simply beautiful. There's lots of space to spread out and it's very clean. There's even wifi!

Nice to visit such an ikonic place but the beach is not that long, it is a surfers ocean so swimming is in designated areas (which are well supervised) but is rough so realky only go in the ocean if you are quite confident. Sea front seemed run down, limited and expensive food available. Much nicer places to be visited... More

Not as big a beach as I thought it would be and we didn't see any surfers but nice area, well maintained and nice white soft sand.

World renown beach. It has good ocean views and beach bunnies. But it is basically just a beach with a famous name.

Just another beach, often over crowded, with expensive restaurants and not enough space to park. A must see when in Sydney, but there are thousands of less artificial looking beaches in the world. The walkway along the coast was an unexpected bonus.

You can't visit Sydney without visiting the world famous Bondi beach. Beware though of the huge waves and only enter the sea between the yellow and red flags as that is the area patrolled by lifeguards. The current is very strong even if, like me, you just have a paddle. The sand is incredibly soft and the beach kept clean.... More

I grew up here so part of me resents the popularity But the popularity is deserved The surf is great, it is are, actively safe beach and has a fabulous expanse of white sand The backdrop is a happening scene The downside is massive crowds and nowhere to park Come early or late But do come It is one of the... Staying in Bondi Beach

Neighbourhood Profile
Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.
