Love the ferry ride to Manly. Loads to see in the half hour trip there. Manly is relaxed and nice destination. Markets on Saturday add to the shopping. The beach is great if to much surf or you have little ones go 10 minutes further to Shelly beach or back by the ferry terminal. Loads of good pubs, coffee shops and... More

We popped in on a Sunday afternoon, this place is a large sprawling pub corner facing onto the beach. Popular with locals and families it offers inexpensive food and drink.

I wasn't very Lucky those two days that I went there because the weather wasn't very good so the safeguards closed the beach for everybody! Very cloudy and freezing breezy! So sad!

This is a family-friendly beach with plenty of shops close by for snacks, etc. Clean and safe. Facilities were good.

Manly is a great place to visit, even if you don't surf! Just take a gentle stroll along the beach, watch the sunset, enjoy a beer, then catch the ferry back to Circular Quay.

If you can visit during the week you will avoid the weekend crowds... unless people watching is your thing.

I was back at Manly Beach today after over two decades - obviously significant development has taken place in the vicinity since then. We had good weather for a walkabout and enjoyed the cool breeze in our faces. Plenty of activity on the beach with scenic views across the water.

It is just a beautiful area to visit. To get there you can take one of the fast Manly ferries. The beach area is really pretty. Along the main street there are really nice buildings with good restaurants. It is a must to visit places.

This beach is an attraction all year round, accessible by bus, car or ferry. The beach is safe for tourists and locals alike, with amenities nearby. There are plenty of restaurants, shop, cafes when it is to cold to swim. It is an attraction for everyone, young and old, whether to swim/surf or to stroll along the promenade.

One of my favourite places in Sydney. Traveled there on the ferry and doesn't take long. Isn't the biggest of beaches but the sand is lovely and there's lots happening or you can simply relax. Surfing, boats and volleyball all available from the beachfront. Can walk along the beach or on the pavement right next to the beach, theres also... More

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
