- stevebintleyBedford, United Kingdom8,886 contributionsWonderful beach and areaOne of my favourite beaches in the city since it’s large enough to not get over crowded but also not over bearing. There’s plenty of seating and viewing spots along the edge of the beach if you don’t want to actually go on the sand and plenty of restaurants / bars along the adjacent road. Everywhere is naturally well kept and there’s lots to admire with the natural landscape and nice buildings nearby. Great atmosphere throughout and a great spot to spend a few hours or even a full day.Visited December 2023Travelled soloWritten 2 January 2024
- EndlessTravelsGreater Melbourne, Australia38,696 contributionsOne of the best beaches for kidsA lot of beaches in Sydney are kid friendly but this one is of my favourites to take the kids. A number of factors include.. lots of eateries nearby including Maccas. Fantastic swimming rock pool (located next to surf lifesaving club). Tips: the ocean view convenience store next to Maccas sells towels, beach toys etc Transport: buses run from numerous parts of city.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 February 2024
- Lizi-BeeGlasgow, United Kingdom17 contributionsOne of my favourite beaches1 of the best beaches Ive visited. Has plenty of clean working amenities - toilets, showers, drinking water. Life guards on patrol every day. Free sea pool for swimming at Coogee Lifesavers, & for a few dollars Wylies baths well worth a visit. There’s also McIvers pool which is great for swimming in but for women & children only. Plenty of seats at beach front - & coffee shops, restaurants & places to get a nice cold drink after a lovely walk along the boatdwalk. Definitely 1 of the best.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 August 2024

It is a beautiful walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach. It could take a few hours if you stop and take pictures along the way. It is very safe and you would run into a lot of folks doing their daily walks or run. The views of the the ocean are spectacular !

I had taken the Bondi to Coogee walk and enjoyed every bit of it, till I reached my destination, the Coogee Beach. More laid back than Bondi, but still very inviting was my first impression of the beach. This was soon to be confirmed.
The Coogee Beach is in a beautiful location and offers plenty of opportunity to play, surf, sunbathe and even has a number of restaurants nearby. One can spend a nice 2-3 hours here, just taking in the vibes of the place. It can be easily reached by bus from other parts of Sydney and is a place worth spending a nice relaxing time in.
One can also take another coastal walk to Maroubra Beach from here. I, unfortunately, did not know about it and hence, missed out on it. WIll do it next time I visit Australia.

It can be reached from Bondi Beach by walking or directly from the CBD by public transport or car.
It is much smaller than Bondi, with calmer waves than the other beaches I had seen and even has rock formations like natural pools, making it suitable for families.
It has a beautiful esplanade where the Rainbow Walkway is located, a multi-colored stepped semicircle that represents inclusion and is ideal for sitting and resting. There are bathrooms, showers and a parking lot. Like all beaches, it has a park around it and in the surrounding streets there are several restaurants and bars. There is a bus stop a few meters away, on Arden Street.
When we arrived, it was starting to rain and we took refuge in a partially covered area with benches. There were people bathing, even with the sea water quite cold.
We were frustrated by the rain, but we were compensated with a double rainbow in the sky which, together with the sea and the sand, painted a beautiful landscape.

Superb location, the beach is clean, supervised with numerous toilet facilities... Showers... beach volleyball areas, traction sports...
A few waves for fun and little surfing.
Beautiful hard swimming pool... The Ross Jones rockpool and many restaurants and snack bars nearby.
The seafront path between Coogee Beach and Bondi Beach is superb... walking or running for the more sporty (beware of many steps) 13kms/250m return.

Starting from Coogee for the walk to Bondi is less crowded, a slightly harder walk but is the better walk in our opinion. The walk is 3.7 miles one way. Coogee is also great because our Uber could drop us off easily and it was not swarmed with traffic.

Finding parking is hard to come by in Coogee and once you find a spot, more likely its a good walk to the beach and shops. Beach was packed on a scorching summer day with more calming waves.
Coogee is always vibrant but if you just wanted to go to the beach, there are other beaches you could go to that's easier to find parking and better waves.

We started the six plus KM treck at Coogee which is one of the best beaches along this section of the coast. It has good stretches of sand and some protection. It is a far more pleasant beach and surrounds than Bondi.

It's like the Oyster card in London, a card that you can top up with money and use on the public transport. Can be topped up at newsagents and stations.
