Hired a car service to drive all the way around the harbor, it's quite large and varied and the mouth of the harbor out into the Tasmanian Sea is stunning. The cliffs at the opening are extremely picturesque

A beautiful harbour to rival any in the world. View it from the bridge, the surrounding shore, from a ferry of high up from the city buildings. It is truly breathtaking and if the sun is out, spectacular.

Sorry I stayed with a fren in Sydney so I can't recommend. Frankly, I think there s no need to stay near the Barbour to enjoy the activities around it as Sydney has a good transportation network

There's a nudist beach at Watsons Bay, next to Sydney Heads. Not sure how legal it is, but it's been there for years.
