We have been here 5 times in the last year - and yes, we even became members. When looking for something to entertain my kid, this is the default. The Wiggles display for one is pretty awesome... an hour of action for a kid for sure - plus they seem to have lots of kid friendly activities in the main... More

We were there til closing and could have stayed longer! The current mummy exhibit is amazing. The CT scans add an that bit extra to the experience. Fascinating! Our kids loved everything on level one! 10/10 would recommend. But please- parents watch your kids. A 6 year old boy pushed my 5 year old daughter off a wiggle exhibit and... More

The powerhouse museum is an absolute winner for both kids, parents and kids-at-heart (and i guess parents-at-heart?). The exhibitions are fun and exciting, and there is lots to do (as well as a cafe!!!)

Visited today to see the Egyptian Mummies exhibition. Very cool, great layout, loads of space, interesting technology uses. After this exhibition we wandered around the museum for another couple of hours. Having never been there before I was surprised at the range of stuff on display and how interactive and kid-friendly it all was. We visited the steam engines, saw... More

This is an exhibition from The British Museum. It shows the lates technology to scan 6 Mummies that have been found without disturbing the wrappings they are in and able to see what is underneath. Quite a fascinating exhibition. There are another 3 levels to explore as well. Good for children.

I continually revisit the Powerhouse Museum because it always has something new and the interactive nature of some of the displays is inviting. It's also a great nostalgic experience.

A group of five visited this museum in March. We had all previously visited around ten years ago, at which time we absolutely loved it as it was packed full of really interesting things to which we could relate, and a lot of Australiana. We were so disappointed on this visit. Not only is it very poorly signposted from Darling... More

Went there a bit on the closing time, but the guy who was on the door was really nice and let me in. Has a lot of interactive expositions, self explained and it's super fun for child's or grown ups. It definitely worth visiting! Has discount for students.

We saw some mummies thirty years ago! Then it was just some bandages in a transparent box. Now, with technology, you're able to see inside without disturbing what was uncovered. Brilliant. You'll learn things you never knew about embalming and artifacts. It'll blow your mind. Take your time, your ticket will only let you round once. Take a jacket too,... More

Great couple of hours spent at the museum for the mummy exhibition. Very informative with the different stories of the different mummies and great interaction with the MRI technology used.
