Christmas in the QVB was magical the decorations are so tastefully done and the Christmas tree needs to be seen the shop and displays were also some of the best in Sydney. The stain glass windows and the fit outs were so well done. Walk to the top floor and look down. the dome on the roof in the middle... More

We loved what they did with this building and with Christmas around the corner it is all decked out. You definitely need to see the AMAZING Swarovski sponsored Christmas tree that goes up 3 stories under the main dome. Beautiful! Santa is close to the tree on the 3rd floor and requires a reservation, but he looks like a great... More

For some retail therapy, a cup of coffee maybe breakfast or a light lunch this is the place to come. From bargains to upmarket retail shopping. From amazing toy shops to Italian leather handbags its all here. A three storey Xmas tree takes centre stage and fairy lights decorate this charming building. Truly worth a visit.

The architecture combined with the decadently filled shop windows, the wonderful food and coffee options are a must see in Sydney. Regardless of whether you shop here its a experience to wander and take in the decadent details of this historic Sydney landmark. I could spend hours in this building. An exception place to visit at Christmas with a giant... More

This "original" Mall has numerous small shops on the ground and upper levels, however there is a basement with even more shops as well as access to a rail station. The Christmas Tree rises from the ground floor to the top of the central dome and looks very impressive.

This is quite simply how all shopping should be! The QVB was a delight to explore, lovely shops, relaxing and great places to have a drink or meal. We visited about 4 times during our week visit to Sydney and this location was one of the shopping highlights and is a must.

This is a nice shopping mall, not because of the stores because it's quite expensive but because it looks beautiful inside. There are some nice clocks and lights and a big and shiny christmas tree. At the lower level there are some food stands for a snack or sweet treat.

Queen Victoria Building is so much more than a retail space - it's a beautiful monument to a by gone era with a tessellated tiles flooring, beautiful stained glass windows & 2 clocks dominated each of the galleries. Must do is to visit close to the hour, take the lifts to the top floor to view the southern clock reveal... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
