Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Jumping in the pool was a surprise - I was not prepared for the salty water! It was quite nice though, as you could not distinguish the chlorine quite as much as in a regular pool. Only swam in the outdoor pool, so not sure what the indoor pool was like (and did not go to sauna/spa either; but apparently the sauna is a dry sauna so I didn't bother!). The lanes were not busy at 4pm, even though one lane was booked for the swim team. Warm showers required a coin from the reception (2 floors up!), so finally I mustered a proper cold shower :). If you like sunbathing, it has a nice area for it.

What a great view whilst you are swimming!! We had been recommended to visit this place by a friend and we went on the hottest day of our trip, after a walk over the harbour bridge we were definitely ready to cool off in the pool.
The pool was great and there were several lifeguards on duty.
I understand that the pool has historical significance with the Olympics etc but I'm sure that no one would mind if the changing rooms were updated and lost some of their history. I have seen nothing like it, one change room per gender, pay extra for a shower, pay extra for a locker, no private cubicles. This let the whole experience down for me.

Spent a great afternoon at the pool. Plenty of room to stretch out and relax by the pool when resting from swimming. Water is salty but clean and plenty of lanes to swim in. Cafe has a great variety of food and drinks and nice sun deck area up top.

We spent a lovely evening here with the family for New Years eve. It is the best setting for the childrens fireworks at 9pm. Lots of activities. We went with our own food but with it being council run cafe prices aren't much anyway.
Value for money for a New Years eve is great at such a small price for one of the best seats in Sydney!

As everyone says, amazing views so close to the harbour and bridge. It is though a full Olympic size pool and convenient for most forms of transport; rail, ferry or bus.
Parking gets expensive after 8.30am so try to get here early.

On a sunny winters day in Sydney, what do you do? Well, a swim in the Olympic Pool in North Sydney is perfect. A scenic walk down from the train station, and into the pool where Dawn Fraser set her world records over 50 years ago. Salt water pool, with the most amazing backdrop of Sydney Harbour to the east, and Luna Park to the west. A 50m pool, swim in lanes, with sun deck. Fantastic

What an amazing place to swim...rught by the harbour and Harbour bright, can't beat it. We previously visited with iur young children and overseas visits and many find memories. Recently returned for a swim and a little disappointed to see in upgrades with the change rooms and showers...still paying for some warm water. Seems all the money has gone into the new section, indoor pool. The condition of the Olympic pool was not great also, cloudy and over treated with slimy floor and walls. Time for a revamp of outdoor pool and change rooms. It is not cheap to visit and tume that money is spent on these improvements...please don't allow this amazing place to be run down further. A major plus, if you park across the road at meters for uo to 2 hours, there is a refund box for parking if under 2 hours near enterance/exist...ask staff if unsure.

There is an amazing view of Sydney Harbour, but that's it. The pools are extremely crowded on the normal areas during weekends. If you don't want to lap swim you have to stay on those crowded areas where there's barely space. As the view is amazing I would recommend going to the area and have a walk around Luna Park. I wouldn't go again to the pool.

With its Harbourside location this is probably the best public swimming pool in Sydney.
Easily reached by train, bus or ferry. With ample seating, sun lounges, and a small shop.
There are two pools to choose from plus a gym for an extra charge. The large change rooms have lockers and warm showers operated with a token. Purchase these at the entrance, Deposit returned when the locker key is returned, unlike the more expensive pools in the City. During the Summer the pool stays open until after sunset. Go during the week, to avoid the crowds. Watch the boats and ships on Sydney Harbour while relaxing by the pool.
