Winding your way down across the Spit Bridge is a lovely drive made even more impressive if you time it for an opening to allow tall ships through. The water views as you cross over it are beautiful.

The Spit Bridge is a draw bridge which will be opened at certain times to let pass tall ships inside the harbour. You cross this bridge when driving from North Sydney to Manly. In the vincity of Spit Bridge there is a very nice marina with all kinds of very luxury boats.

A pleasant walk on a pleasant day. A few places to refill your water bottle, sit or take a dip. Great views of the city and Manly. I took the bus and was dropped off so that I could walk along the bridge. The driver wished me a Good Walk Mate. Very Australian!

The Spit Bridge marks the starting point of the long Manly scenic walkway and is an amazing place to start from. The bridge itself is a vehicular bridge, which is drawn up, when the yachts need to pass. One can see lovely mansions, hills and beaches from here and take in the lovely weather particularly during the spring and fall... More

Ever since authorities banned fishing from the bridge, walking across it has been a lot more pleasant. Note however that the bridge is undergoing maintenance until mid 2017, which means construction hoardings and scaffolding in some locations. Still, worth a walk over and a swim under the southern end (Mosman end - mind the current though, it can be swift... More

Nothing special about the bridge other then the heartache of just missing it by seconds and then waiting for what seems an eternity letting a couple of yachts through. Frustrating if you are having a short trip to Manly and you spend more time waiting for a bridge. The other trap is the reduced speed limit as you drive down... More

So this is the one main road that connects Sydney with the Northern Beaches...yet it still has a drawbridge to allow half a dozen yachts in and out of middle harbour three times a day! its not a great site seeing thing to visits, but the restaurants and bars nearby are definitely worth it. Try Skiffies, Pizza Paste Bene and... More

If you are a hiker this is for you! This is not for people who like to take a casual stroll...the hike is long and varied. There are hills, stairs, trails, viewpoints, wildlife and lots of great flora. Brings lots of water and snacks and wear good hiking or walking shoes. Better yet, bring your bathing suit for a cool... Took the 11k route for this walk - was about 32 degrees and I'm definitely not the fittest person in the world so was a little unsure If I had bitten off more than I could chew. Turned out to be fine - the walk is broadly easy going with some steeper hills and plenty of steps, the distance was... More
