Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A local lady recommended we visit the Library at Parliament House and it was a great experience all up. The lady at the main desk was incredibly informative which prompted us to do more while we were there, like hop on the bus and watch newsreels from the 20's to the 70's and get the lift to the top level to see how the Tiwi men fought inn the war, yet were not paid until a decade or two later when they were finally recognised. A good shop and the Senators Cafe has the BEST baby quiches! A stroll outside afforded expansive ocean views from open gardens.

I visited the morning of my last day in Darwin. A big mistake - I needed more time than I had. Why? Not only can you do the self guided tour of Parliament House ( they have a guided tour on Fridays) but the building also houses the Territory Library , which had some excellent displays that I could only view briefly. Next time I visit I will allow much more time.

Well worth a visit. The Library alone is worth going to see but closed Mondays. The Timbers used throughout the building are magnificent. Speakers corner a coffee shop atthe back on ground level is worth a stop everything is made on the premises and the view out to the Harbour Magnificent. Just before leaving pay a visit to the Tactile Arts shop, all locally made merchandise, by local Artists.

This is probably the most impressive building in the Darwin CBD. Known as the “Wedding Cake”, the stylish architecture gives a sense of grandeur to the building. The white colours are stark against the background colours, which emphasises its style. The gardens around the Parliament House are well maintained and equally beautiful.

Nicely designed building which we would have liked to see a bit of the inside, which was noit possible when we were here. Set amongst some lovely grounds where we walked our dog. Apparently it has a nickname amongst the locals where it is known as the wedding cake. Why? it is square and white, with a lot of fruit on the inside mixed with alcohol.

Such an informative and interesting tour, and I enjoyed spending more time afterwards exploring the building (including the library). Visiting Parliament House ended up being an unexpected highlight of my stay in Darwin. There are self-guided walking tour brochures available at the entrance.

Interesting & well presented HIS- Story of Darwin.

The exhibition in the library on the history of Darwin was good but could be better. There’s a lot of stories, photos & film about men’s achievements. The films were worth watching as they were quite archival. I also think that seeing as they include music & some art that a history of its literature- authors, poets & even journalism would be an insightful addition. I enjoyed a coffee at the Speakers Cafe. It was also a good activity to do to stay cool in the heat of the morning when these no breeze at this time of year.

Parliament House was a beautiful treasure to visit when we were in Darwin. There is a lot of information about the history of politics with these walls. Also hidden away in this magnificent building is the library, which had a wonderful historic display. We completed our visit with a lovely morning tea at the ‘Speakers Corner cafe’, where the coffee and cake was delicious.

We strolled in early one morning and were the only visitors. We had an enjoyable look around. There seemed to be a good exhibition on in the library which wasn't open at the time we were visiting. There seems to be a cafe in the building with a lovely outlook
