The walk was a steady ascent up the mountain....make sure you wear long pants due to the stinging nettles and be prepared to get attacked by hundreds of leeches...constantly stopping to get these critters off...overall i enjoyed the walk but due some slippery steep cliffs...More

3 of us - all 50+ males - did this walk last weekend. It is reasonably challenging at 10+km round trip and about 3 hours return trip, but really well worth it. The climb up is not steep but continuous and some sections have steps....More

The walk to the summit of Mount Mitchell commences opposite the parking area at the top of Cunningham's gap. This is in fact the most difficult and dangerous part of this walk as the trucks surge through the top of the gap and safely crossing...More
