    Great view but busy
Popular ( insert word busy) spot to view Brisbane. Considered walking from the botanical gardens carpark but when told it would take 1 1/2 hrs there decided to drive to the summit. Great views but don't come here if you're hoping for somewhere tranquil to take in the view

Scenic Bliss at Mount Coot-tha Lookout
our visit to Mount Coot-tha Lookout was a feast for the eyes. With panoramic views of Brisbane and its lush surroundings, it's a must-visit spot. The lookout offers a unique perspective, especially at sunset, making it a romantic and picturesque experience. Don't forget your camera!

    Best Views of Brisbane
We were determined to go to Mount Cootha having seen all the amazing scenic photos online. We did so on our second day in Brisbane and I have to say it was well worth the trip. You can get there by bus but we got an uber from the riverbank, not too expensive at all. We did make one incorrect assumption. We assumed that Mount Cootha Lookout and the Botanic Gardens would be close by each other seeing as they are on the same hill. Big mistake! They are way too far apart to walk. The uber is not expensive but it is the getting one to come out and do such a short run! We did see buses but I am no help here as we didn't use them. Anyway, wonderful panoramic views of Brisbane city and the river, plenty of open plazas space to stand and get some good photos. There is a restaurant and some small shops by the car park.

    Botanical garden and lookout
We drove up to the top of the summit and down the other side. We stopped and saw the botanical gardens that had several local Australian birds and lots of different sections to wander around and explore. Then we drove up to the top and saw the views of the city. There is also a planetarium that we didn’t see. Plan to spend most of a day if you want to explore the area. There are also numerous hikes to do if you have the time to do that.

Easy (but satisfying) stroll if you want to walk it
I had been to the lookout at summit of Mt Coot-Tha many times by car, so this time decided to walk to the top. Really, it was all too easy. Took the Summit Track from carpark at JC Slaughter Falls. It is less than 2 km to the top from there, and took about 35 minutes at a steady pace. The track is wide and mostly paved and drinking water fountains are available at regular intervals along the track. And then plenty cold drinks, ice cream etc when you reach the kiosk at the summit. Nothing spectacular to report, as you're walking through fairly nondescript eucalypt forest. Not unpleasant but not spectacular. Epic view over the city from the lookout of course, enhanced by the satisfaction of having walked up the track. Walk back to Slaughter carpark is straightforward.

    good
The Views from the lookout were excellent as the weather was clear. information map unfortunately damaged by sun so couldn't see names of places. Restaurant was good, not too expensive. They did get flavours of milkshakes wrong, but altogether good.

    awesome views
Our tour group stopped here for about 20 minutes - which is about all you need to take some awesome pictures. On a clear day you just have the best view of all of Brisbane. It is rather crowded with lots of people taking pictures and getting in the way, so you have to be patient for people to move out of your sight. There are decent bathrooms and a little cafe. The best part is that there is free wi fi here and all around the city.

Beautiful views of the city from afar, a lovely looking cafe to have lunch at, we didn't have anything there but seemed busy. We got an uber up but found out there was a bus that goes there too so got that back down.

The views are what the views are - it is not a result of the mount. If you can get to the same height in a helicopter you will get similar views. The restaurant - huge lines and slow service. Good for the restaurant - not good for you if you have time constraints

I knew my local friends had brought me somewhere special for a late lunch on a warm, humid afternoon…we arrived shortly before the multiple bus loads of tourists…so we were able to order and get seating in the shade with a great view. Excellent lunch, yes, annoying bird pests we were warned about, but simply a great place to visit. Would love to experience it at night!
